Help With Buying A 1989 Gts-t

is there anyone who can help me? i need to know what the main problems are with the 89 GTS-T so i know what problems to look for first and get a good buy rather then trouble on four wheels. any help will be greatly appreciated.

Have a look for rust mostly.. under panels and things.. getting to the age where they can start to rust

Chasis damage underneath.

Not blowing lots of smoke

Worn bushes and suspension (can be expensive to fix if all need doing)

Oil down near where transmission meets engine (rear crank seal). Labour intensive/expensive to fix. Common problem on RB20's

Coolant system in good order

i bought mine 6mnths ago. Was seemingly in near to perfect condition, 90.000 k's and i've had to do -

air con

o2 sensor

clutch

radiator

engine seals

air flow meter

turbo blew - replaced with gt2871r in rb20 turbo housing

will be back on the road soon and will be waiting for next thing to go wrong

Anything that old will near certainly have 250,000km + regardless of what the odometer says... I would go for the latest model skyline u can afford. The older the car u get, the more its gonna cost in maintenance. I have a couple of mates with high km rb20's... they dont seem to break, just get tired! ...ie. need to crank longer to turn over, tired throttle response.
