:( sorry Pete as i said couldn't help myself...

alan yes that was over one lap

i worked out how to use my camera since the last Winton and i do have the high speed shutter thing and it was all in one lap ....

Yeah the VL was there as well. It's quick and Adam can steer as well. He really drove the wheels off it at Winton.

Thanks snowy , the big fat ass wagon is my mates and is actually a stock 5ltr with side pipes , but it does have some good suspension and brakes to help it . I know the interior looks stripped but its an executive and they all look like that .

Actually bass junky had a couple of slides in front of my car also but managed to keep it of the grass and i reckon hes the last of the late brakers as i had a go at him into the left onto the back straight and he flew past my braking point.!!

adam

Whats done to the VL? I see you at every damn track day:)

What sort of times is the thing doing, as VL 5L are pretty cheap these days, throw a Tremec at it, EFI heads and a good carb and manifold...then i imagine with basic susp and brake upgrade it would do well...am i far off?

Hey roy , im a bit of track whore just like your self and attend all wrx days and as the skyline guys are their often its made these days heaps better.

VL's are worth nothing these days so they make a decent base as everything has to be changed from std anyway . Im running a supra 5 speed, std diff , vn 330 mm disc with a 2 spot caliper which are easy and cheap bolt ons. Engine has just been rebuilt and is still a carby 304 but is fitted with rollers and a solid cam , makes 200 atw . Shocks are just pedders shit atm but im looking at something a little more focused for next year . Tyres are toyo R888's which have helped with the times coming down.

The car is a good match for the rwd skylines as the times are close except at sandown where your r32's times i had no hope in catching.

Ill be sure to come and say hello at calder.

ps nice pic in front of the pub at benalia

    • I don't know why we've had a different experience, but I've had them on the race car for 18 years and not a drop, and have them on the stagea too, same, no problems.
    • This was a huge help.  We followed the steps,  although shifting into 2nd was actually into 3rd for us,  and 1st was into 2nd ( steps 9 and 11) .  The long flash was the 4th flash.  So shift solenoid A is possibly the culprit.  Is this inside the transmission itself? Or is it accessible by just front the pan? Or is it bolted to the outside of the transmission?  Thanos for your help everyone
    • Can you enlighten me on your best practice regarding these hoses? I don't wanna make the same mistake if you already got a better solution.
    • I have some silicon hoses already, for example engine to watercooler. But yeah, I get the sentiment. The lower intercooler silicon hose is drippy too, despite not being very old. Does anyone except Nismo make these same lines out of rubber? Long term I think they'd be the better replacement, especially since the car won't live as hard a life anymore as in the past nor be driven as often.
    • I know most issues are just age related. But for example the turbo oil drains, there is dash adapters for these and you can just make a braided teflon line for them and (probably) never have them leak again. Also not terribly expensive. Can you even get the factory hardlines from new? Or are they repairable if they break?
