i want something with a 3 point immobiliser and has the radio tehcnology where i can see if my car is ok from a distance, but satellite tracking is a bit costly, i am currently looking at the boomerang and autobahn systems, also where would be the best place to buy the system and where would i get the best quality installation (hopefully there are places who sell the systems and do killer installations, note: killer meaning GOOD! LOL) ? i got dodged with my last car by JBHIFI and realised you get what you pay for with installations :) but yeah im prepared to pay for the best installation and i want the best security for my car :P its a 95 Skyline R33 GTS-T please tell me what you guys use in what cars as well this is a big decision for me as i do wanna make 110% sure im buying the right thing for my baby :P

thaks guys!

I just had Quiktrak installed in my car. They were very professional and now I feel I have total piece of mind. I'd say it's worth it but depends on the person.

Quiktrak quotes $2150 incl first year's tracking ($320 per year after that). They give you a bit off sometimes if you are insured with a certain company etc, doesn't hurt to ask, I got a slight discount.

Anyway, I'd recommend it but the choice is yours, good luck in finding a good system.

Cheers

Ok thats a fair enuf comment re: the alarm not working through 5 brick walls but think about what you're saying.... it doesnt matter if your car gets stolen beneath Star City for example because as soon they trigger an alarm you get a call... additionally the tracking signal will resume when the car gets outside of the building. So you're only screwed if they decide to strip the car for parts in the actual carpark. So basically even if the thief ducks in and out of concrete carparks as soon as he moves again the signal will track him. They tend to pick the thief up within 20mins of first detection anyway so he aint gunna get too far....

HSVKLR i actually meant the little Autobahn type alarms with the little hand controller thing that tells u if ur alarm has been set off, doors are open, windows up etc NOT the Satellite tracking.

1. if your car is stolen from star city, say good bye to it.

2. its not hard to find the tracking module and rip it out, it can only go in a few places

3. its possible to block the trackings signal

4. radio pagers are useless, once you go around the corner theyre pathetic and all you have to do to disable it is rip the little magnetic strip off the window

5. if youre in sydney and want an excellent alarm and install at a good price, pm me and ill recommend you someone that a few of us on here use

I still have a few autobahn 2way's for sale. I havent done too much testing on range, but can say its pretty good.

If I park my car in the basement of my friends apartment building in the city.. I open/close/start/monitor the car from the 16th floor. Thats not a huge distance, but if you think about all the concrete between the basement and 16th floor its not bad. If anyones interested, im going to be around melb til the 28th.

well as long as i get range from say a car park and when im in a movie then thats perfect as thats the only main time my car is at risk, but i have a manual and i was told in my gts-t its too hard and could **** the car installiung the thing to detetc if its in gear or not so if i get a pager system i just wont get the remote start hooked up, i already have a turbo timer installe into it, will it work with the alarm to ensure it can cool the turbo and turn off while armed or the alamr just locks the doors, waits till the turbo timer shuts donw then arms the system ?

You should try calling Danny @ AutoTrust - he is one of the best installers in Melbourne, he does most top alarms from QuikTrak to DEI products .. he also owns a Skyline and perfers to work on imports (especially R33's) - call 0403 056 181
