Ok I am aware that the ecu controls the voltage of the fuel pump to allow the fuel pump to have two different speeds(Low load then High load).

I think this is done by controling the ground of the pump.

All am I need to know is if this is right and which colour wire I need to ground to the chassis to allow the pump to run at full 12 volts all the time.

yes, that's right.

Not sure which wire though, the fuel pump wiring harness is in the boot, I think it's a 4-wire plug. At a guess i'd say it's the black one, because black is usually ground But i don't know for sure.

There was an article on this, because it is a common problem (ecu cuts power to pump at traffic lights and car sometimes stalls). Try searching tech section or How-to's
