It was only the other day when i saw a friend a uni who is a part of Skylines Australia who claimed to see my car in the background of a photo on this site, so we checked it out. Sure enough it was my car. I was interested to read Duncan’s comments on Round five at Wakefield, suggesting we play to much GT4, (perhaps ur talking about Croft). Thats not very nice. Duncan did drive well and congrats on the 2nd place, but one would hope that his turbo charged 4WD drive skyline would bet our commodores of the line and to the finish line. If not there would be explaining to do. The Skylines that dominate our class are in a league of their own, to use an analogy its like racing a poodle vs. a greyhound, even though this is the first time Duncan finished in front of us :) .

No hard feelings Duncan, look forward to Eastern Creek. :P

Hey Michael, well done, you had a good weekend out too.

I reckon you are being too modest about the saloon cars tho, they have no trouble knocking off the v8 commodores so you must be doing something right....especially around wakefield where its nice and tight....I suspect you might run a few hundred kilos less than these bloody overweight GTRs.

Still, I love how the GTR ran, especially considering that it was its second run, I was over the moon. Not so happy about the blown motor in race 3, but thats racing, right?

As for GT4, lets face it, close racing is the best fun you can have, I just could have done without the panel damage, I thought I was back racing daewoos again. I spoke to 2 of the 3 drivers that I came together and all is fine. The 3rd driver really didn't show any courtesy to his fellow drivers but I guess every grid has their share of poeple like that, don't they?

Good luck for EC, I won't be back in time for that :) Do you reckon you will knock Phil off the top of the points table?

More pics of your car in here http://www.hgeconsulting.com.au/wp050910/wp0509101.html

I think one of the main reasons we knock of the V8s is because of technology.

Its a great class with some close racing, and your right there is always going to be some touching. What do skylines generally weigh; our cars are a minimum of 1356.

Eastern Creek should be an interesting round for us, the engine goes back into our car Saturday, we where down on power at Wakefield, she had just about had enough. But its now rebuilt because we know where going to need the speed down the long eastern creek straight. Its to bad you wont be ready in time.

I hope we catch phill in the points, thats not my only worry i have to finish in front of croft. That broken diff in the last race at WP really hurt our championship (not to mention the other diff and gearbox we smashed this year)

Anyway look forward to racing in the future

Well my whale weighs in at 1500, and our cage is pretty basic so presumably some cars might have another 50kg. And I'm no lightweight either lol

Luckily we can make some power to help make up the gap but its a bit like driving the QE2 sometimes. No wonder the brakes gave out on me the other day :)

Good luck at EC, I hope to be back for some of the other rounds like the day/night or the enduro

Hey Michael,

My car weighs in at 1620kg with me in it. ( but I'm a fat old man)

Good racing at E/C and I'm not sure , but I was told it came down to one point.

Dam I thought it was good!

Are you up for a play in the dark?

Cheers

MIB

    • I like it when the counter chick leads you out the back into the racks and says "have a grub around in here and see if you can find what you need. I'll be back in a few minutes. Just left me in front of a massive motorised shelving system and 2-3 million fasteners, so I could find a peculiar SS shoulder bolt with cap head. Gotta love country towns.
    • I used this https://osgiken.com.au/product/os-giken-os-250r-lsd-gear-oil-80w250-1-litre/   shut my nismo 1.5 pro up by heaps…. Not silent though. Gives the car character and personality. It ain’t a carolla. If you want silent, put a quaife in it.
    • It's about the same time for me from Bunnings, or the Fasteners. My big push away from takeaway food, and gluten in general keeps me away from the Bunnings Snags too! Weather up here, I've been out for two walks today in the beautiful sunshine. Had a few little drizzles, and some wind, that honestly, a tin of beans and I could compete on how harsh she blows Thankfully, being this bit inland, we're not getting anything much really. Will probably pick up a bit more when/if Cyclone Alfie decides to come ashore. A few areas in the GC though, and south into NSW are really getting smashed though! Right now, I'm just annoyed Alfie hasn't hit, as I'm not allowed to crack into the BBQ foods like the bacon and eggs until the Cyclone hits "In case we lose power"...
    • I love fastener joints, the price difference between them and joints like Bunnings or Super Cheap is amazing, and they either have exactly what you want, or they can get it to quick They have even given me some for free when I only needed a couple of specific size In saying this, I have paid premium for fasteners from Bunnings if they have the sizes I need, but only for convenience really, as my local is only 10 minutes away, the Sushi joint near them is also a consideration  How's the weather Matt? Stay safe mate
    • Wideband is worth setting up if only for tuning purposes. I would not mess with the ignition system unless there's a misfire. HKS crank trigger is popular out here for the relatively easily sourced Denso crank sensor, not a bad idea to install as well regardless of power level on a standalone. Boost leak test is worth thinking about. Oil pressure sensor tied to a fuel cut isn't a bad idea either. Getting the tune figured out is a good idea. Without putting eyes on it and getting under it there's no way for us to tell you exactly what it needs but most likely you're down to the last 10% that will make a big, big difference in how happy you are with the car.
