PIE - as Will said, my stock ecu reset while I was in the USA (due to flat battery) and the tune of my piggy-back Unichip is subsequently stuffed. I had black fuel smoke pouring out the back of my car on the dyno run! But either way she has never actually cracked 200rwkw - my highest figure is 197rwkw, which was when she did the 12.74 1/4 mile at 110mph. It seems my stock air flow meter and throttle body are the culprits for holding back my power, as 220rwkw is what she should make, given the mods (in my opinion).

As I said on the day, it would be great if we could have a dyno day one day, and a drag day at AIR the next. That would be truly awesome to compare power vs 1/4 mile times. Also would be interesting to weight the cars at AIR before their run to compare power vs weight vs 1/4 mile time and mph.

Even better if we could get a dyno and weighing station at AIR for a day to do it all at once! If only!

Here's my dyno sheet for the day.

And another one when I got my FC tuned.

THe only difference is that on the DAY

i had a Z32

Fuel Regulator

UniFilter Panel Filter instead of Apexi POD

Hence I should still have pulled the same or even better.

My car was sick on the day due to the panel filter being black and clogged I believe. I inspected it today.

Probably go back to a POD for the meantime and get a new panel which doesnt get dirty so quickly. (1-2 months)

Will... She needs a tune, look at those afr's. ;)

I think the dyno is realistic. Not reading low.

Blackwood Auto & Dyno appears to read similiar to Shauns.

The MS-75's Toyota Beast jumped on the dyno, he was expecting around 380rwkw, pulled 390rwkw.

I'm not sure about the dyno reading low, the two VL's that went on it were running very, very healthy numbers! Definatly wouldn't call it low. :)

I was quite impressed by Nathan's number. ;)

187rwkw on only a 2.5" exhaust, small FMIC and some boost. Pretty damn good effort.

I came across this on the Ford Forums...

Sky30's RB30DET with the GT35/40.

Will's Rb25DET.

Sky30's is making the ever so slightly more power up until around 2900rpm where Sky30's begins to make quite a bit more power and doesn't look back.

Interestering observation that an RB30DET running quite a large turbo and not making much if any boost under 2500rpm can keep up with the boosted rb25det. :P

Hi guys-I can't be sure exactly how the run I had on Shauns dyno (391rwkw) relates to the reading from Blackwood (381rwkw) as there were a few variables involved.

The first difference is that the run at Blackwood was done in Shootout 8.1, which is supposedly for forced induction V8s, whilst at Boostworx it was on Shootout 6 (for 6'cyls).

Secondly, the 381 it pulled at Blackwood was the second-to-last power pull after 1.5 hours of heavy load tuning. Hence, the entire engine/cooling system was heat soaked to f**k (poor thing was nearly boiling-and the trans cooler was turning water sprayed from a bottle straight into steam......)

Thirdly, on the rollers at BDT I didn't have the elbow on the front of the turbo to get the airfilter away from the radiator airflow, and so the filter was plugged straight onto the turbo, pulling hot air straight in.

Finally, when I pulled the plenum cover off the other day I found a couple of aluminium shavings in there (from some die-grinding I'd been doing somewhere on the intake system I guess), so I put some fine stainless mesh over all the intake runner bellmouths-and it was still on there when I ran it on Saturday at boostworx.

Sooo-I'm not sure if the modes make much difference to the crown, as it boosts up almost instantly-but I don't really know to be honest. The fact the car wasn't hot on saturday and the cooler intake air would have cetainly pumped the power up, but the mesh over the intake ports would have certainly pulled some off. (I've pulled the mesh out after checking that nothing more has come through though). So as you can see, there were enough things different to cloud the issue.

The Dyno comp at the HPshow this weekend should be a good comparison however. Heats are on sat, and the finals on sunday. I'm also upping the boost a bit too.

Cheers

Sean

yes people have also had good gains adding a na25 head to a na30 so i guess it works well off boost although it would have a lower comp. also hed be running better aftermarket management? and bigger injectors, fuel pump etc. i know sky 30 has aftermarket management his mate told me he does all the tuning himslef?. what id like to see is a comparacent between a 26dett and a 30det. im looking at a coupe today and i think i may swap the engines over and have to start off a 30et in the coupe :D then go det later when i have more money. hmm or just put a 25det or 26dett in the coupe :( hmm u just cant beat the torque

I haven't done any diff ratio calcs to make it an even playing field for the VLT.

When I get some more time I'll throw in all of the results I have..

I would like to see Sky30's off boost ignition map.. I am curious if there's much left in it or how it compares to the PFC ign map Bl4ck32 and I are running.
