Hey guys,

I know this should be in events but at the moment its not an event, yet. I am doing some driver training on the 12th and 19th of october and this is just to see if anyone else is interested cause the more lines the better and if there is a few we might have some leverage to get a deal to get some $ off. i am doing the luff driver training courses at oran park. the day of the 12th is the stage 1 course and the 19th is the stage 3 course with cams observe so that i can get my cams licence. the cost of the 2 days is $630. You have to have completed stage one to do stage 2 or 3. If anyone wants more info go to http://www.ianluff.com.au/index.php?option...id=23&Itemid=63

I know people have a lot of different opinions on who to go to for driver training and which course is better but i have had many friends go through this course and all agree youll learn alot and have loads of fun while doing it...

Any takers??????

Top idea, this is great training and its a shame so many people talk so much but don't go along to something like this.

I guess from your post you are already booked in, SAU is running a CAMS training day thru Aaron McGill on 22 November which would be another idea. I've done CAMs courses with both Luff and Findlay (but not McGill personally) and I would say that the Findlay one is the one to try if you really want to be challenged and learn :)

Unfortunately i'll be away for the Level 1 otherwise I would definately come. I've done the finlay one - however really want to do a level 2/3 advanced course.

Any recommendations? I'm pretty sure finlay's don't do an "advanced" one.. only the cams and normal..

Want to do it before it heats up as well..

Hey mate,

there is plenty of other level one days between now and the 19th, Im just booked into the 12th because that was convenient for me, try and get a friend to do one of the earlier ones with you then we can all hook up for the stage 3.

sanger - I may see you on the 19th for the stage three course if I can't get in for next wednesday's one

Brush that one come to the one on the 19th...... you know you want to. :)

hey yeh id be interested.. perants are paying atleast half :D  hopfuly ill be there too

yeah same. my old man was going to get me golf lessons so i suggested that this might be a smarter option and he agreed. you dont hear of many people getting killed by someone slicing a golf ball so i think the driving lessons are a better bet.

Hi All,

As a licenced trainer and assessor, I can give you the good oil !

Peter Finlay's driver training days are the better of all of the packages going at this time.

He may be a cranky style of a bloke at times , but he can teach you more in one day than all of the others.

Good Luck with it.

    • I have done smoke test and can’t see any leak on high or low side.   checked pump and fluid can flow through. Removed the high pressure from steering and did smoke test and same on low side, no leak.   puzzled. Thinking why if it was all ok it suddenly went as car was off road for a year. Don’t want to disassemble pump yet as i can see fluid / air( compressor) can flow through with no issues
    • Which manifold mate? Meanwhile......Mark is wondering how bonnet vents would look on the NC 🤣
    • Actually,  just remembered there should be info in the threads (somewhere) about swapping to a manual steering rack and deleting power steering all together.
    • Also had a look at the Nissan JP website looks like the 400r has a slightly shorter ratio than than the regular V37 3.133 VS 2.937 which from a guy who has driven both 3.69 vs 4.11 ratios in the S15 is bugger all. Seems that the AUTO Z runs the same ratio as the 400R but can't find any info as to if its an open or LSD? More often than not the auto LSD is open
    • Do not replace the power steering lines with this stuff. If it's anything like the Chase Bays stuff it will leak and be worse than stock. The reason why the reservoir is on the LH/passenger side of the car is because that's just where the reservoir was most convenient to fit. Don't overthink this stuff. The intake/cold side of the engine is pretty busy on these cars. And again, the hardpipe is designed to be a janky power steering cooler. In theory you can replace it with a real power steering cooler but that's really only for track use where boiling the fluid is a distinct possibility. Start with the low pressure lines feeding the pump from the reservoir. Make sure there isn't a bunch of junk in the reservoir filter. Be careful to not get ATF all over the engine bay. I hate dealing with ATF spills, you can clean it up and the slightest crevice will still release more oil that can still drip over time. You also want to inspect for leaks before you make a mess and can't tell what happened. Most likely you have a leak somewhere that is allowing fluid out and air in. Failing that it's allowing air in but not fluid out. Only place I can really see that happening is on the low pressure side because the pump will pull a slight vacuum to draw fluid in. Everything after the pump is high pressure or lower pressure, approaching atmospheric by the time it returns to the reservoir.
