Hi

My plan is to detail and clean up my engine bay with a little paint and polish

Question One - is standard car paint with gloss heat resistant enough?

Question two – if I remove some parts like the inlet pipe and the plenium ( I thinks its called that) and polish them will I need to get a new gasket?

if you take off the plenum then yes its a very good idea for new gaskets in fact i believe it is absolutely needed

if you have a gtr like me its about $7 per gasket for the throttle bodies. need 6 of

if its not a gtr i dont know
