Sau Vic Social Meeting\dinner - Tuesday 20th Sept

Recommended Posts

It's SAU Vic Social Meeting time. That's right, Beer, Food, Beer, Cars, Beer and laughs!

We have a special guest speaker this month, Alistair Ward the Key Account Manager from Intellimatics. Intellimatics are the producers of in-car GPS telemetry used for security/navigation/tracking. They make the Holden Assist product and the Toyota and Mitsubish Evo IX OEM systems. The CarCom product can be retro-fitted to any vehicle.

These social meetings are divided into two parts, the first if your hungry is a meal from the bistro (GO CHICKEN KEIV!!) and a chance to have a chat with other members then the second is a short informal meeting.

We use these meetings to give quick rundowns on past events with video's, pictures and stories etc, to address pressing matters, tell members what's happening behind the scenes and for discussion on upcoming events. It's all pretty relaxed and fun. This is a great opportunity for those of you who don't know too many members to come down and mix as new faces are always welcomed.

Time - 8:00pm (Dinner from 7:00ish)

Date - Tuesday 20th Sept 2005

Location - Bell's Hotel, 157 Moray St, South Melbourne (Cnr Moray St & Coventry

St Melways Ref - 57, G1)

Note - This Pub is family friendly with an area set aside for us. There is plenty of seating (tables and chairs) and meals for all.

Who is welcome - Everyone!

I highly endorse this month's speaker.

Their technology is pretty cool - something we'll be seeing a lot of in the future.

Plus - he got to drive the Evo at PI for the press launch. So you can ask questions about that ;)

Hmmm still concidering if i should come lol. How long will it go for from 8?

It will usually finish around 9.30-10.00pm

But - you are allowed to leave whenever you want. It's OK.

Just think of it as a Van Damme movie :D

ok so expect bad direction, lots of lame jokes, corny setups for oneliners, sex with trailer trash looking chicks, un-necessary show of muscles, amature kick boxing skills and one of the wards trying to execute a leg split for no reason?

late notice I know - but does anyone have the Jerermy Clarkson Top Gear series on DVD??

If so - any chance you can bring it to the meeting tonight for your friendly club President to borrow??

Cheers.

:)

sorry fellas had to miss the meeting because I was gettin tix to the premier of Deuce Bigalow, and for a chance to meet the "you can do eet" man himself.

Snowy I have all the clarkson DVD's (including the ones he did in the early 90's where he reviewed the R32 GTR in japan) and the this year's entire top gear episodes on DVD, you can borrow at the next event I attend.

BTW have any of the Wards done the split yet?

Ahaha, nice James :) btw, last time I checked there were at least 3 AP's in the area around Bell's hotel with good signal strength, all with no authentication enabled :D Ahh gotta love wireless.

    • Hey lads, reviving an old thread.  As an update, since the last time replied to this thread, ive done mostly suspension. Havent touched the motor except for maintenance. Though upon changing spark plugs, found out i had splitfires pre-installed! Updates: - Got me some stock airbox top cover and snorkel to fit onto the original intake. Should be free of defects - Bought a set of R34 GT-T brakes (not installed yet, going to rebuild + respray in champion blue + white 'Nissan' text) - Bought the last set of bilsteins from @Sydneykid and had them installed. Has been making some sounds on the rear but hopefully should be sorted out after this New Year break. - Regreased front caster rod bushings (poly bushes..) - Rear upper camber arms - Whiteline sway bars (BNF27Z 22mm + BNR11XXZ 24mm).  The rear sway bars are a bit short (ive read 50mm else where) but was still able to get them in.  Anyhows, I reckon suspension is sorted now. Maybe replace bushes (do have a set of front upper control arms from SK not installed yet) but should be okay for now. From now, I'm wanting to start working on the motor, drivetrain etc etc. Still debating on the order to go on and what to buy etc but: - ECU ( Haltech or Link ( Link states that it dont support A/T or AWD functions... Can anyone attest to this? ) - Highflow turbo ( ATR43ss2 ) - Intercooler ( Not decided yet, but cant find many good afoordable ones. Toshi says to opt for crossflow Japanese. Bit difficult this one, unless I get a returnflow Blitz from JJ? ) - Injectors ( Any recommendations ? I do have a nismo FPR ( Thanks SK ) ) - Seats - Tune by either Toshi or DVS To be fair, I did consider just keeping the stock turbo and nistuning it. Sat in a mates stock N, that had something like 200kw, and I reckon that felt more than enough. Maybe I should just go this route ahhaha. Too many choices.... Planning a trip down south, so wanting to just clean things up and make sure it gets to and from in one piece. Anything else specifically I should do before ? Cheers lads
    • Must be for the car’s lucky charm 🤷🏽‍♂️ She runs fine, but it just seems to take about 1L less. Maybe I’ll have the oil sump dropped at some point to check if there is anything
    • Hmmm interesting. Mine is the exact same and clearly the right one.  The mystery of the engine oil being full after 3.5-4L continues
