hey,

I recently got my hands some damper and height adjustable tein coilovers off an import fresh into the country for $250 (all four) for my R33. they've been in for about two weeks and yesterday while i had the car up on the four post hoist i noticed that all four had cracks straight through the bottoms of the eye where the lower bush is bolted to your steering knuckle i don't know whether we missed this when installing them or whether this has happened since being on my car... but it is concerning.

Has anyone else encountered this problem or i am the special one with rooted coilovers?

probably rooted coilovers. A good set of coilovers will cost around $1k so the price you got is reflective of the condition.

Do they make any knocking sounds? or feel bouncy? or do u notice any leaks? those are signs that they are blown. There are a few places who recondition coilovers. ring around suspension places.

Not unusual with excessively hard Japanese aftermarket suspension kits. How low have you got it set (centre of wheel to guard)? Too low and it will be pounding the bump stops, the damge at the bottom will be reflected in damage at the top chassis mount. Check there for cracks as well.
