Yep, that's it. The only thingI would add is that you can get a four point rollbar in place of the six point rollcage which is good to 10.000. For a regularly street driven car this might be a lot easier to get away with.

You can use a four point welded rollbar if you run 10.999 to 10.000. No side intrusion bar required at all with a rollbar obviously (no way to mount it).

Six point rollcages can have a removable side intrusion bar on the driver's side. No need for any instrusion bar on the passenger side.

Kenny, six point cage must have a welded in intrusion bar 4.4.7.1.

Old news chap, the recent rule changes (20th August 2004) allow for a removable side intrusion bar. Or else Greg Shultz shouldn't have issued mine with a tech inspection pass on my log book last year!

Removable Intrusion Bars: Effective immediately, the use of removable intrusion bars will be permitted in street registered sedan based vehicles with original, unmodified monocoque construction and full steel roof, running 8.00 seconds (1/4 mile) / 5.00 (1/8 mile) or slower. The intrusion bar/s must be the same diameter and thickness as the main roll cage hoop and must be attached using a minimum of 3/8 inch (10mm) bolts. Male or female clevis attachment permitted. Male clevis must use two minimum 1/8-inch-thick brackets welded to each roll-cage upright; female must use minimum 1/4-inch-thick bracket welded to each roll-cage upright. Bolts must be within 8 inches (200 mm) of the vertical portion of both the forward and main hoops. A half-cup backing device must be welded to the vertical portion of the main hoop (inward side) or the upper end of the swing-out bar (outward side), minimum 1/8 inch (3 mm) extending past the centre of the bolts by the diameter of the tube. Sliding sleeves with minimum 2-inch (50mm) engagement are permitted in lieu of the upper cup. All bolt/pin holes in the swing out bar must have at least one hole diameter of material around the outside of the hole.

Bloody Shieldsy....he told me the drtivers side must be welded in.....he also said "if you gotta climb over the bastard to get in, you may as well make your passengers too" It works ok and stops you from being lazy and scuffing the sides of the seat getting in and out.
