Rb26 Intake Plenum Onto An Rb25

hey,

i have been toying for the idea of trying to fit an rb26 intake plenum onto my rb25 for a while now, not really chasing power but in an effort to tidy up the intercooler piping that will run behind the radiater etc when i put my fmic on. anyway, i picked one up relitevly cheap the other day and on first inspection it seems as if everything will be good, just wondering if anybody has actually tried this before? if so what headgasket did they use and did they keep the 6 throttle bodies (beyond me) or just weld another flange onto the end of the manifold and attatch the stocker? just any general info people would have to share on this would be much appreciated,

oh man.. you silly, silly man.

it is not a direct bolt up in any way.

it will require machining and a whole shit load of work.

what ever you bought it for, expect to pay tripple that to get it fitted and working.

and then I'm not even sure if you'll get ANY performance gains.. maybe upper revs..

at least you've saved 30 cm of intercooler piping..

I wouldn't even bother.

You'd need new throttle cable lines too.

For the money you spend doing that, you could do something better.

thanks for the comments guys, yeah i did try a search, i could only find one post but it was with the rb20. thanks for saving me the heartache in advance, i was just about to go down and pull off the original intake manifold (have a new gasket for it anyway) and see how the GTR manifold fitted, but as it stands now, i think i shall just go the 180 degree bend

A 180 degree bend would turn back on itself like a U.

I guess he means a 120 degree bend ala gibson motor sports R31.

or maybe he meant 180 as in from throttle over engine, 90 degree turn along engine, 90 degre turn over radiator fan = 180 degrees.

go for the gibson style mate.

or why not make the pipe from turbo to intercooler go over the radiator fan instead..

the air is already hot., then through the cooler and up through the factory cooler pipes path.
