hi, I want to import a EVO 7 from NZ to sydney. Would someone be able to tell me all the costs involved like compliance and taxes and about how much they would be.

Also the procedure of importing and any other tips would be very helpful.

Thank you very much

Its a 2001 factory standard Evo 7, the only mod is 17 inch volk racing alloys.

as far as i know, it's the same as doing it from japan.

go to www.j-spec.com.au or www.prestigemotorsport.com.au -

both have import calculators. Instread of the yen FOB price, just use the cost of the car at the moment in AUD.

budget roughly $4000 for Evo compliance? not 100% on that.

will need a set of factory rims i think too. Add that to the cost.

some of the evo compliance varys i think from $5000-$7000

not sure on current costs if its came down.

The new sevs stuff can be very tricky tho. you WILL need to remove teh alloys any exhuast etc. car has to be STOCK STOCK STOCK.

ive heard of a few evos being sent back......

mick

Evo 7 private compliance is $5,500 + GST + tyres @ CROSSOVER CAR CONVERSIONS, FERNTREE GULLY, VIC.

or

$4,750 + GST+ tyres @ RECREATIONAL VEHICLES PTY LTD, NERANG, QLD.

* Rec Vehicles said that they would charge an additional $2k for new cat and brake pads if the car had done >= 80,000km.

It's possible to get a grade 4 with 60-70 on the road in QLD for $30k, provided the pads don't need replacing. They seem to be coming down and 1 AUD = 86 YEN atm. I'm just not sure that the build quality is as good as Nissan or Subaru.

for a good EVO7, you are looking around $40k+ on road.

but since you own the car in NZ, if you are the australian citizen, do it as  a private import, if not, get the cash ready. looking around 10K for everything up. that include shipping, compliance, and rego.

Is importing a car from NZ more cost efficient?
