Standard Gts Sound System

Soon I'll be getting a '96 R33 Skyline GTS25 non-turbo (stupid power restrictions for P-platers! )...I'm getting a fully stock standard car with no mods done what so ever because it'll be cheaper (no sh!t)....So what I really wanna know is: what sound system does this car come with standard? Is it any good? How many watts do the subwoofers have? and..should I just leave the sound system alone? or is it just a piece of crap that needs to be replaced with something worth a few grand....

any answers to my questions would be appreciated..

it will most prob have a shit headunit.... some speakers at the front that will be nearing the end of their life and if your lucky you might get some speakers at the back but they will be totally f**ked...

the car does not have subwoofers standard...

With a new headunit, some sound deadening and some nice splits up the front will do you well.....

then id go for some rear speakers just for rear fill....

an amp or two and a sub.... and you will have an awesome system....

I've recently bought an R33 GTS-4 with stock sound system. Just has original cassette deck/radio (has been fitted with an FM expander) which looks very plain, has 6" front speakers which are rooted and I think 6 1/2" rear Clarion speakers which are pretty shit..

I'm looking to get Kenwood MP3 HU ($590-save $300), Polk Audio 6" speakers for front ($179) and 6 1/2" Earthquake speakers for rear ($125). Getting free installation on all (so long as I don't leave it too long), so just under $900 all up, or I might decide to get a cheaper HU. It's just a straight-fit replacement I'm doing for now which will give me some decent sound for the moment.

If it has stock speakers and you're not happy and have some cash then spend a couple of grand and you'll have a nice system.

And Cause the cabin is Quite small u won't need a uber sound system to make it sound good.

would a stock R33 GTS-T fit a 6x9 at the rear??

yes with a lot of work cos the rear parcil tray is only built for 6" so you will ahve to make a custom parcil tray but yes it can be dune if you know what you are doing.
