R32 Engine Question

Hey everybody, I've just got a couple of quick questions about the R32.

I've just bought an R32 which is completly stock, and have looked under the bonnet and have found a couple of things which i really have no idea what they are.

Hoping you guys could help me out

Found this, and i unscrewed it to find there are some vents on the underside... should this be flipped over for better ventalation? I took a look at my mates, who also has a 32, and his is the other way up? what way should it be?

I got no idea what this would be?

#1 is the ignitor pack, it makes a stronger spark for the coils. It does look like it is upside down and possibly rotated 90o as well but Im not sure Im more used to rb26.

#2 was probably a mount for an aftermarket BOV that has been removed at some stage.

I've got #2 on my RB20DET - so I don't think it is aftermarket - It's factory - but no idea what it is for - seems superfluous to me.

#1: Mine is the other way up - I think yours is upside down

#2: Got that too, mines stock so it isnt from an AM BOV...

Hey, thanks everybody, I thought mine might be the wrong way up, I'll look at turning it over soon.

As for the second photo, thanks for your help, but yea, spose i shouldn't worry about it
