yeah i borrow my mums radar detector a lot - apparenty she's upgrading then it'll be mine. Thing is with my music up i cant hear it go off anyway - so usually i just resort to my charm on the cops and pray i dont get a female one.

Im surprised i havent been pulled over for my car being too low yet.

Aidwin,

Nothing personal, your just not my type:p

Dan, Don't take it personally, we all just prefer different colours:D Will you be entering PAS with the RB's?

See'ya:burnout:

Heya Paul,

it was great to finally meet you face to face!

OK ummmm with the PAS, i am out of a job in about 5 weeks so not too much more will be spent on the line untill i get a new job.

I think it is fantastic that you guys are going to enter... there is nothing more that i would love to see than a lovely bunch of lines at the next show! RB's have always been great to me and have been nice enough to invite me into their shows, i should try and pay them the respect that they deserve and if they want me to enter into another show i should say yes... HOWEVER i really would like to be part of the SAU stand at PAS! when is the latest i could tell you... can i tell you all a bit closer to the date? i really have some BIG plans for SLY but unfortunately no $$$$$ at the moment :-( so until i can find a new job nothing is for certain... no matter what happens if you guys are unsure of anything in the show scene please ask me... i have been to 3 shows now and each time i still have more and more questions... setups are always mind boggling to me!!

    • Ah right that makes sense.
    • The RPM is just a target, the ECU will adjust things to try and hit that target but it's by no means guaranteed. If the IACV duty cycle is 0 or something like that and it's actually closing up fully then the idle is as low as it can physically go without reducing ignition timing. The problem can be something like the cold start valve in the IACV not closing fully, worn throttle shaft seals, torn rubber diaphragm in the brake booster allowing unmetered air, etc.
    • Apexi, though I'm not comfortable with setting the idle, knowing me I'll f**k it up lol.
    • What ECU is on your car @silviaz? You can just change the idle target table yourself and the IACV duty cycle. Noting that if you play around with the screw you'll also need to revisit the idle base duty table as you will end up offsetting the lot. Another reason why DBW is superior, there's less mucking about.
    • Yep. Saw that on the image above but, wonder if it makes more sense to clean out the iacv because let's say in theory mine is dirty and if I clean it the rpm will drop. If I first go to my tuner to drop the rpm and then go to clean my iacv won't it drop further or is the rpm a fixed number?
