Yep - no codes, timing presently about 32 deg.

Must admit that after changing the rear knock sensor on the weekend I haven't had any problems from the sensors

*touches wood*

so let's assume that it was faulty - could always put on the front to confirm, but I might get things right first.

haha kicking the old man out way to go - its not too bad here cos my parents have a place in bunbury too - so they are only here half the time - but since renovating this house lately they are here a lot more often! I've lived with someone haha its an experience i'll say that!

You're right - but I'm also a very curious bugger!!!

Plus the front one is a piece of cake to change - I'll show you one day if you like young grasshopper:)

...probably wont bother though cos what difference does it make

Hmm very curious tho.

As I said there MUST have been a prob or the puter wouldn't have come up with a code.

Cheers

Ken

haha no point opening my purse - anything that was in there is on the wheels anyway :P by the mostly stockness of my car its obvious that there wasnt much in the purse to begin with anyway!

    • Connected to plenum towards the rear end. Yes, absolutely required for the ECU. Even Nistune can't save you if you don't have it.
    • Can confirm solenoid makes no difference. I finally removed the solenoid and the wire off my engine loom and there is no issue with boost. Keep in mind, this is the solenoid, and I've got a Nistune. After the boost controller, I ran the car for a day with the solenoid unplugged - no issue. So then I just ripped the whole thing out. Like @GTSBoy mentioned before, the ECU just sends an earth signal for the 2-stage boost. And looking at the wire going into the solenoid, that just had 2 standard wires and did not look important 🤣 As for boost sensor: I saw somewhere that the vacuum line the gauge uses is at the back of the engine on the driver side. I never touched that but assume ECU uses that??? (maybe? Just assuming)
    • I still remember it trying to rip the steering wheel out of my hand when I put it into a 4wd power slide lol
    • Im also amazed how well Attessa holds up to all of the abuse. Especially with the burnouts and crap you guys used to do at Texi!
    • True! I think I'm closer to 06 with the cameras in phones being out there more. And the nearly impossible to use internet web browsers. Or paying for ring tones... Man I hated when we couldn't just compose a ringtone on a Nokia anymore! These days I just hate it if my phone rings, beeps, boops, or vibrates!
