Removing The Marks From Stickers On A Car

Want to remove the GTS25T sticker on the back of the car (on the boot lid), however I know it's going to leave a mark on the car as the sticker has probably been on it since it was born.

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good cleaning product that would remove the marks from off the paint, without damaging the paint work at all?

I'm a big fan of eucalyptus oil - gets stickers off the car sooo easy and leaves no residue!

Just dab a bit of it onto a cloth, press it into the sticker, in particular around one corner. If that corner comes up (with some gentle picking) peel it back slowly while wiping under the sticker with the cloth.

I'd think that over the past 15 or so years the paint may have faded a bit underneath.

eucalyptus oil damaged the clear coat on our last paint job....use wax and grease remover and wash afterwards with car wash.

In removing the body kit on my R32 GTR to facilitate getting at some rusty spots, I had to clean off the double sided mounting tape. It was recommended to me by a friend to use metho. Seems to have done the job. No sign of damage to the paint or clear coat either. I figured it didn't matter so much where I was doing it as it was going to be hidden by the body kit when it goes bck on. I would have thought metho would have damaged the paint. Seems all it did in my case was soften the glue. I still had to use a stiff thumbnail to scrape the glue off.

Cheers,

-Shaun
