Why did you not organise your insurance before buying the car?

Futhermore im not sure why you are complaining about the price after your last insurer paid out "$30-40k" for your last GTS-T

Like Beer Baron, I am not surprised.

How old are you? How long have you had your license? Have you had insurance before?

I'm 22 - with Just Cars - 50% no claim - $2000 insured for $21,000.. welcome to Sydney and it's insurance prices.. not much you can do..

Sorry if i'm sounding rude - but unfortunately if you own a turbo import that's what they charge.. alot of places won't touch them - NRMA and AAMI for one..

NRMA - must be sold in production in Australia

AAMI - default you to Just Cars as they underwrite them..

Famous - have trouble competing with Just Cars if you haven't had insurance before as they won't give you a decent no-claim..

2k sounds about right, but theres heaps of variables they look at to determine this ie age, previous claims, area you leave the car, driving record etc etc. How old are you? if your under 25 this is cheap. And if you got 30-40 k pay out what are you worried about?

Insurance companies use a market bracket system - what year is your car? they also look at how much you paid and than come to an agreement with you.

My 1998 R33 has a market value bracket of $20,000 - $23,000, unless yours is similar to this - I would expect the market value to be the same.

Unfortunately that's how they work - you will also find that the following year the market value will drop.. it's the way it goes..

If you feel it is worth more - than you need to have a chat to them and possibly they will raise it, thing is it will be difficult to get it above the bracket for market value..

i dont see why you would want to insure it for more than 19k, seeing that most 95gtsts sell for less than that, and there is no hard value u can put on them ie. redbook.

hence the question who much did u get it for..

and if u did get get it for more im pretty sure u would have to have some proof that u did pay more for it, ie stamp duty when u bought the car.
