Rear Windscreen Wiper Stays On

Ok,

this has been pissing me off long enough.

a while ago I took my car (series 2 r33) through a car wash and all of a sudden the rear windscreen wiper came on and has since stayed on no matter what.

I've taken the fuse out, but as soon as I plug it back in, the wiper goes again.

I've just taken my steering wheel shroud off in an attempt to see if there was a wire that was lose or something, but to no avail. I've also taken a look at the motor/assembly for the rear wiper in the boot and can't see anything obvious there.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? I remember in my old 89 N13 Pulsar Q that a switch had a ball bearing in it and slowly something had worn down and wasn't connecting anymore and was wondering if a similar thing could have happened in the "dial" on the wiper shaft, but can't see any obvious way to open it.

Any suggestions/help/comments (apart from getting an auto-electrician).

Ok, I will tell you what I know about wiper circuits.

90% of the time the wiper motor will be supplied a constant power and the switching will be done on the negative side.

I dont have a skyline wiring diagram, but their should be a rear wiper relay (timing built in for intermittent speeds - so it should be a little bigger then a normal relay) either that has shit itself. Or, you have pinched a wire under the drivers side kick panel - had the rear seat out lately?

because the wire that goes up to the switch or relay may be earthing out which will keep the motor going.

Or the last possible situation is that the motor has stuffed up internally. Welcome to the wonderful world of working on cars
