I am the most sunburnt I have ever been in my life. I arrived at 8am in shorts and a tshirt and was contemplating buying a jumper coz it was looking like rain was gonna fall any minute. I took 1 look at the pissy little merchandise tent behind the main grandstand and kept walking.

The A1's sounded quite different to what I was expecting. They were much louder, I was expecting a much deeper throbbing sound.

The Chrysler pace car was the biggest ugliest worst sounding car i've ever witnessed in my life. To top it off it was an auto so everytime it took off out of the pits it sounded like it was going to struggle into 2nd gear and just made the uuugliest sound, ugh!!

I thought the $55 entry fee was a rip off, I mean c'mon this isn't the Bathurst 1000 and it certainly wasn't an F1 race. I noticed that the grandstand seats were $80 (incl gate entry) on the sunday, who in their right mind would pay $150 for a single adult grandstand ticket to basically watch 4 main races.

They certainly advertised the event well (both tv and radio adverts) for about a month prior but the turnout of spectators was quite low, then again im sure the price had something to do with that.

The spectators were pretty cool, atleast I could hear and see them speak which is unlike most of the V8 events.

At the end of the day i'd rate it a 6 out of 10 purely because it was something new, losing points on ticket price, lack of merchandise and novelty stands and lack of pit girls.

I actually thought the Chrysler sounded good. It had quite a bit of speed to it too, considering he wasn't "racing" it. I agree on the price, should be cheaper.

My main gripe wasthe length of the races. 1 hour main race is a bit ridiculous.

Hmm.. pity I didn't go - mates had full access pit-passes.. might put some pics up if I get a chance.. was still hungover and dissapointed from the day before with the Drags not on that I couldn't bring myself to drive out all that way again..

oh well.. next time - sounds like it was good - rang him right in the middle of the second race, couldn't hear anything on the phone - they're pretty loud.. but I think the F1's eclipse them...

I went out on Saturday and loved it! They sounded a lot better then i thought they would have.

I walked around the whole track twice and got to see them on every corner and straight. I will be going to watch again next year i loved it.

I was very disappointed to see no cars at WSID on Saturday :D I haven't read the drag day thread yet, but i was at eastern creek from 9-5 and it did not sprinkle once.

hmm those two were ok. but as usual the elf chick stole the show. one in particular has some might fine assets...

check out the guy in the background having a perve, caught out on camera, i think he wants to dip his wang

    • interestingly enough, i found out the answer is yes. doing a flush did fix my recurring A/T light. it might have been because of the trans filter: but that doesn't really make sense to me. the fluid/filter was super dirty. would that increase the pressure in the lines and trigger an A/T light? does the car even have a way of detecting that? i have no idea. i've done 200+ miles after the flush and no A/T light. if my A/B solenoids went bad, i would think the light would've come on. shifts and drives way better now though...at 2k rpm instead of 2500...no hesitation and downshifts when i want it to.
    • I vote go red. Only because I hate keeping gloss black clean. Was no worries helping out either! Glad you've survived the rain outs of QLD
    • I would again like too thank Matt for his help in me sourcing the detachable hard top for the little red car, without Matt's assistance in inspecting it and locking it down, I can guarantee it would have sold before I could get up to see it,  and as that was the only available NC hardtop in Australia, I consider myself extremely lucky on multiple levels To say I'm more that happy would be an understatement And, it is 100% water tight, I drove through torrential rain coming back south, and by torrential, they type of rain that doing 40kph in a 110kph zone was a real thing, and even then, the standing water on the Hwy was deep enough to throw waves I'm also more than happy that the huge "BEASTS" that Matt calls dogs didn't eat me for lunch, I'm sure the sniffs and licks were more to "taste test" me, over being to friendly Now to work out what colour to get it painted, panel match, or gloss black........first world problems are real
    • Actually I might have figured out. Looks like there is a tab according to google images but it's hidden. Silly me.
