Can anyone one tell me how strick are WSID for the wednesday night off street meets?

like they say there is scrutineering of your car and that, i mean my car passed rego but its not all that legal - same as most of you i guess.

one major thing i was worried about was the exhaust noise, it says you cant have it louder than 98db. i dont know how loud mine is but when your wastgate dumps out a screamer pipe its certainly not elevator music!

so yeah just wondering if anyone had run their car in a wednesday night street meet ar WSID and could tell a bit about how it goes down

Cheers

lol true....but the fact is that no car with a turbo wheel stuck in the exhaust is anywhere near as noisy as an n/a car with a big exhaust :P

Have you seen anyone banned for breaking the noise limit?

Also 98 db is damn loud....and how far away is the testing point.....also I bet it is to the side of the track and not behind where the exhaust is pointing :)

Hmm .. heard the Pac MX6 lately? Last time the turbocharged Bavariacars sport sedan was testing at Eastern Creek we got pinged for 121 dB down the straight!

i think the 98bd regulation is for street meets only. not for pro drags like the mx6.

its one of those things to make sure your car is actually a street car.

I know mine is louder than 98db at the screamer pipe. no restiction just 45mm wastegate off the manifold to a 2" by 4" pipe. ooooh its soooo good. even makes the V8 drivers turn their heads.

WSID now don't even scrutineer clean looking street cars. A few officials stand at the front of the staging lanes. If you have a rotor / really modified car, they'll send you off to the scrutineering shed.

Otherwise, they just inspect your helmet and write the numbers on your car, and off you go into your lane.

A pretty good idea really :)
