I had a External Bosh 910 Fuel pump fitted a while ago and discovered recently that it was hanging down due to a dodgy rubber mount that was fitted.

What broke was: It had a rubber pad inbetween two bolts that were kind of joined i.e -----||||------

||| is the rubber and ---- is the bolt if you get my drift.

Anyway this came unstuck.

So i decided to rubber mount the whole lot properly.

What I used was a couple of bolts with washers and a lock nut with some lock thread to prevent it coming loose.

For the rubber mounting I used a Wiringloom rubber grommet.

I then drilled out the hole a little more and fitted the rubber grommet in the hole. Bolt through the hole with a washer some rubber grease another washer then bolt through the mount on the body then nut then another nut.

here's a few pics so if you do it your self you can get a rough idea.

Unfortunately i thought about pics after, ishould have taken them before I fitted it. oh well.. :D

I have got the fuel pump secured by two places hence rubber mounted in two points. One side is not visible due to the plugs on the fuel pump.

It is alot quieter now than what it was.

Before only one side was rubber mounted the other was metal on metal.

I get no vibrations through the cabin now.

I have to turn off the radio open the car door and put my ear down towards the fuel pump to try and hear it.

It is quieter than a VS 5ltr standard fuel pump.

With the rubber sleeve over most of the fuel pump heat buildup ran through my head so when I get the car over the pit i'm going to pull it out again and possibly cut a few strips of the rubber and then mount it that way so that there is air around the pump to help keep it just that little bit cooler.

Any 1? is it worth doing this or it doesn't matter?!?!?!

Apparently 250rwkw.

An RB20 with more than 250rwkw isn't really that nice to drive.. :P

way to laggy.

I think all up fitted it cost me $300. I've got the receipt some where. No more than $300 I think it may have even been $280 or something.
