Hey all,

Looking to upgrade my battery, preferably with an Optima Yellow Top (stock battery doesn't really like the new stereo, plus it's a bit old anyway).

At the moment looking at getting the D51R Yellow Top - it's one of the smaller ones, but I think it should have enough power for me. Anyway, I've heard that you might need to make minor modifications to make the battery fit - new terminals, battery clamp, etc.

So if anyone has an Optima in their car, can you post up:

a) which model

B) what modifications were required to fit it?

Thanks!

Vijay

yes, you will have to get one of the smaller ones....

I have a tall yellow top optima and it doesnt fit in the standard spot under the bonnet..

and yes new battery clamps are needed as the standard ones are too small to fit onto the Optima

you can have the battery's posts changed if you want to stick with your original clamps.

and yes, chances are slim putting a d34 under a bonnet normally, but keep in mind, the optimas are happy on any angle at all, so you can mount them on their side no problems at all!

otherwise, throw it in the boot!
