hi y'all..

wasn't 100% sure where to put this, hope this area is semi-relevant.

anyways, here's the problem...

bay.jpg

my engine bay has colour everywhere!!

no that's not the problem, problem is i need to get to my coilpacks, and i know they are lurking underneath the middle cover plate there but i'm not sure what i need to remove.

And if i need to remove the Green part, how the hell do i do that?

Also, what should i be real careful of? Anything i could REALLY screw up? Car has a flat battery at the moment too.

any help would be appreciated :(

cheers,

chinny

oh, to answer your q's

1) remove the rail which mounts the engine cover (neo 6 piece)

2) remove the 4 radiator clamps to remove the green piece (u only need to remove up to (and including) the rubber piece. you can leave the weird cylinder shape thing there

3) remove the coilpack cover (note that there are 2 small screws at the back which u need to take out and some small clips

4) remove the coilpacks

the coilpack cover maybe a bit hard to take out so u might need to take off your oil cap too ^^

All I did was remove the red and blue part.

loosen then right green part from the throttle body and turn the pipe up.

then after a few minutes of manipulating the cover it will come off.

The first time you do it, might take you 30 mins haha

but that is how i get my cover off.

i just leave it off now.

ok, i've unbolted all the bolts for the rail bit... but the left hand side of the rail has like a pipe attached to it? the pipe thing the ends by splitting off into 3 plug type things.

and how do i remove the blue part?? they look like clip things around the black tube, not sure of the method to get them off tho...

consider my engine knowledge zero :D

thought i'd update... i had a go at the pliers thing... the main hose across the cover plate, i couldn't move (without worrying bout breaking something) but the little U shaped one i managed to wiggle it off a bit, but then there was like oil and shit, so i left it :P

anyways... i'm going to start a thread in the Vic section. Help in exchange for brewskis :) (read, 6 pack of choice) i don't want to f**k anything up.

cheers, and thanks for the help y'all!

Mate, sometimes you gotta get rough with cars...... They aren't a toy - most will handle the little amount of punishment your little muppet arms can dish out.

You cant let rubber hoses and the like worry you :)

Cheers

    • I would be lying if I said I wasn't interested in what MCM were going to do with the NC I really enjoy their banter and occasional collaborations (like Alan from TSF, Ben from BCW, or any of the Haltech guys throwing around their experience), and I have probably watched everything they have put out
    • Not yet, we basically drove it to a private road, got the logs and drove it straight back. I think I need a new passenger seat belt after the mrs squeezed the life out of it.
    • Sounds insane! 🤤🤤🤤  Do you have any vids of it driving?  A flyby would be nice!
    • The prices of NCs are going to go up thanks to you... and partially the MCM guys.
