I Need 2 Get Injectors Cleaned 4 R33 But.........

Recommended Posts

yeah i need to get my injectors cleaned 4 my nissan skyline r33 its a 95 model and its non turbo, manual. I was going to get them done but the guys that do it told me over the fone that they would not do them cause they will leak or could leak and then they have to do it again and that ...cause of warranty and that ....so its not worth there time i think....so they said id have to replace them...others told me they can do thme no problems.. so what do peopel know from experience doing this my car sort of jerks a bit sometiems when you take of and that. so i think its the injectors...i live in dandenong north, melbourne.....does anybody have any advice or know anybody good i can take it too in melbourne....or maybe its another problem who knows.

regards brian

Im getting them cleaned cause it says on the message..on top that the car jerks a bit when i take of or at low revs in the first few gears...i wnated to do a carbon clean in answer to another message but i cant find anybody that does it here. i contacted one that did it a company but they said they got rid of that cause...it didnt really work. i wnated to do it on the car so i would not have to take everything apart... maybe someon that does this job in melb..the carbon clean even if it doenst really work the best...better than nothing...yeah

Why they made the statement of them leaking is that as injectors get old and wear the carbon seals the wear points, so after cleaning them hence removing the gum that seals them they can then leak. When mine were done there was up to a 10mil flow difference in some, on the flow bench. One leaked so had to be replaced. This was on my GTS-X that has done 161,000 ks

Ok cool yeah. mine have getting worse as well. so i better get it cleaned. Hopefully will inccrease my fuel economy and more power. then again my non turbo r33 2.5, 5 sp manual doesnt seem to waste much petrol anyways so thats good i guess. hopefully now it will waiste even less. and hopefuully none of the injectors will leak after cleaning

Yeah thnaks for the responses that i got. I will ge thme cleaned see how i go. Also a mechanic i go to now in dandenong who imports these cars told me that, it could be the spark plugs cause i cleaned them witha wire brush and that, he said teh lead deposits can make it missfire, but i dont think, so cause the first time i cleaned them they were ok and the problme started long time after that was done.

Yeha i got the injectors carbon cleaned the guy ran the car with these liquids for like 2 hours...the car went for ages and this black stuff came out ..all the carbon deposits...smelled like someone had been using an angle grinder or something. but now the car does not jerk anymore. and i saved all the work of taking the injectors out and that. plus i have been told the injectors on skylines usually leak afterwards..so they are usually just replaced and that, instead of cleaned. its not worth there time cause thne they have to be taken out again. I also bought new spark plugs, so hopefully that will make it even better than it is now.....also i wnated to ask what is teh spacing for an R33 rb25 sparkplug is.

im not sure. does anybody know.

I have never heard of the injectors leaking as a common problem with the Skylines.

The Oz R31 - yes, they have the rb30 injectors though. They may have had them confused.

The RB30 injectors are well known to leak after a clean but the other RB engines do not have this as a problem as such - not saying it can't happen but it is rare.

How much did the carbon clean cost you?

Hey maybe you are right about thme leaking maybe they got it wrong or were just crapping me... and that . yeah to clean each one was like 35 each which is like 210 plus i had to take them out myself. if they do its extra.

and the carbon clean was only 130 for the job which they do on the car. I got it done in clayton thast in the south eastern of melbourne.

    • I much prefer that to an actual oil pressure issue, never would of thought it would of been a volt drop issue but SAU brains win again. Guess ill be turning down the oil pressure limit for the track and hunting some grounds. Ill hopefully update this thread with some high oil pressure and solid ecu voltage logs.
    • You've just discovered a really good reason to tell yourself, yes, I do need to buy an aftermarket ECU. Put the MAF in the bin. Slap in the new ECU and have a think about what turbo sounds you prefer.  Do you want a 90's style BOV wooosh? Do you want a hektik tsututututu?  Mate, can't go wrong. Just gotta get that ECU and the world is your oyster.
    • Hi. Iam just curisou about this topic. I saw this video. It is about Greddy Type FV2. I know that BoVs are about that sound but how and when to use it? I read some topic here and from what i have understand on stock RB with MAF there will be some "problems" if you use this BoV? It vents the air in to the atmosphere and the MAF on stock car needs this air back in to the intake and not out? Or is it wrong? If so...i saw you can put some adaptor to circule air back...but does that not "loose" that sound? I saw another BoV from Turbosmart and it has two "exhaust" like ports? One is for the stock tubing for letting air back and one is for "sound" and let the air in the atmosphere? Can someone please explain? This is the Greddy one:  And this is the Turbosmart.     THANK YOU!! EDIT: So i read about this topic some more and i if i understand that correctly: That Greddy can function either like BoV or 100% Bypass valve? And that Turbosmart is what they called hybrid so you can adjust what and how many air can be vented out or back in? Is this right? THX!
    • That dirty voltage drop is the culprit I suspect
    • i cant get them all in 1 screenshot unfortunately as i just dont know how to move things around tbh, but they are all from the same log and the line crosses at the same point for all of them
