OK now before i start posting, yes i have searched and read all the posts related to exhausts.. But i have a few questions that im still confused about..

1) What is the quailty workmanship between a jap brand exhaust (thinking off gettin Trust Pe2 or Blitz Nur spec r, or fujitsbo) than to a local one such as xforce..

2) The price difference between them is huge!! eg, nur spec r is 950 excludin shippin, where as xforce is about 550--- > This is for catback exhausts!! Why is this.. Both stainless steel!!

3) Does jap brand exhaust have a better design??

4) Now this quesiton is related to sound, and i know it comes down to personal preference, but how does 1 go to listening to different types of exhausts.. so basically need some input in terms of what your exhaust sounds like..

5) So is it better to save money and go local, which might do the same job as a jap brand??

6) Ok well, if you could state which exhaust you have and why, please do so and any input will be much apprieacted..

7) Gettin split dump/front pipe n hiflow cat affect the noise??

Sorry about the long post..

But need as much help as possible to decide which exhaust (catback) will sound gd..

ohh btw this is for a series 2 r33..

cheers..

Personally I'd go for a Jap brand exhaust because of the massive experience they have in dealing with Skylines.

You probably won't notice any difference in power but I'd suspect things like quality of the bends and fitment are better in the Jap-made one.

As for sound, there is no real way to know. Maybe go on a cruise or dyno day and listen to exhausts and see if there's a sound you're attracted to then ask the owner about the system.

I have a 3" Kakimoto catback, standard cat and JustJap front/dump pipe combo. The sound is not too loud and if you search around SAU, you'll find that many of us recommend Kakimoto for a decent level of sound.

However, if I had the money I'd go for an Apexi N1 Catback. My brother had one on his FTO and it sounded extremely good.

May i ask which Fujitsubo exhaust?? i would like the powergetter..

Well basically im not intending of gettin a catback for power!! it is more in the intention of noise(rumbly type) and the looks of gettin a nice barrel at the end..

i say local..

and not local brand, i mean local exhaust shop

you get:

- brand new

- to your specifications re sound and height of the ground

- half the price

- good quality

i paid $540 for a 3" cat-back in mild steel with a stainless cannon muffler and an extra-large resonator.. all installed and tested before paying the money over

fansastic value for money and sounds exactly to my specifications

plus they actually make it sit higher than stock so you can get your car lowered and still make clearance :P

cheers,

Warren.
