This may seem a little mental, but I was denied a pink slip (NSW) because my parking lights (headlights) don't turn on with the headlight switch. This is only the headlights as the tail lights etc do come on.

The car is an R32 and there is a button on the RHS of the steering wheel that seems to turn the parking lights on.

Is it normal for the front parkers not to turn on or do I have a problem?

on the light knob, first click is parkers, second is headlights. pull the indicator stalk to flash high beam and push to lock high beam on.

you can also turn parkers on by putting your foglights on.

Check bulbs.

Check fuses.

Check the actual stalk.

Easy way is to put a test light to the parkers and turn the parkers on... if it don't come on check closer to the stalk. A few people have problems with those wearing out. Easy way to confirm that would be to bypass the switch and short/power the parker wire itself.

Haha, i wouldnt worry about being embarrased, one time driving another vehicle, i had no dashlights and parkers on the outside of the car. Very annoying at night, anyways, was going to take it to an auto elec, i checked what i could. Anyways, got pulled over for it, copy looked at the fuses and said there was a blown one ... :s i missed it. Dang.
