Ecu Tuned For Japan Now In Aus With Car...

An R32 has just landed off the boat from japan, and

the ECU has been tuned to jap spec fuel which is rated at

like 106 RON compared to our 98 RON, what probs

will occur if any will running over here in Aus?

The car only has small mods like cat back exhaust.

Will it need to be re-tuned?

Yeah my car came off the boat with 250rwkw and a Jap Tuned ECU. You will find thtat it just runs really rich and will burn petrol like there is no tomorrow.

it will be tuned for jap fuel it will probably ping so be careful and change it asap

Were going to try and change it with the standard ECU and

see how it runs.

The car will also potentially lean out.

This has happened many many times with people running Japanese re-programmed ECU's on Australian fuel

could not re-tuning chipped ecu possibly cause fried piston ring over time (say how long?)

japanese retunes are almost always really rich and lots of timing...

your best bet it too get a new chip, if the old one isnt siliconed onto the board or go for another computer like a ap engineering power fc
