CAT_SPEW
Just went down to watch my car on the dyno, and it is having problems with the hoses blowing off. Is their anything that I can use to help them stay on better? Already going to get stronger clamps, but is there some sort of glue or some other way to make them stay on better??? CAT_SPEW
I think you might have just fixed my problem!! I have a Blitz BOV on the car, but I think it is wound up very tight. It does go off slightly when changing gears, but it ALWAYS flutters and isn't very quiet so that might be my problem. R33S2
I can think of a number of ways to stop piping coming off and if your BOV is OK you might try 1. longer pipe sleeve and two clamps 2. roll a ridge in the pipe so the clamp has a bite point 3. Run a bead of weld around pipe as in 2 4. Bush mech a self tapper through both LOL Good luck and what Boost R U running? Duncan
there are also a better style of hose clamp you can use, they use a big bolt to hold the two sides of clamp together they can be done up really tight. Tridon are one brand that make em, get the from Pirtek but you also need a good lip on the pipe to hold it, a lot of cheap aftermarket ones dont bother with the lip. mr 32
if your running more then 1.1 bar on the stock rubber hoses it is a common thing for the hoses to blow off. the most effective way to fix it is with a hks piping kit or similiar kit Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/89178-intercooler-hoses/#findComment-1610910 Share on other sites
CAT_SPEW
Thanks for all the replies, after thinking a bit more abotu it I don't think it would be my BOV being too tight (don't have a stock BOV) because they are blowing off while under acceleration/boost, not when realeasing air. Welding a lip onto the pipe sounds like a good idea, and I already have a few of the good clamps, so I will get a few more where needed and see how I go. Boost atm has been either 12.5 or 16Psi Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/89178-intercooler-hoses/#findComment-1611166 Share on other sites

R31Nismoid
its got nothing to do with a BOV. its the piping/clamps only. You probably need more lip welded onto the edges of each pipe to help the clamp hold on where the hose meets. Also install better clamps on those points at the same time. You can get the clamps from Hose Fitting places, Enzed, Purple Pig... and other specialist stores.
