Hey guys, just wondering if there is any other way beside from buying the cleaning kit from k&n themselves to clean my panel filter, its filthy, i have blown it out with an airgun. Im just wondering if using thinners or kerosene will do anything. But dont wanna stuff the filter up in the process.

Anytips?

Using any air pressure on that filter can really stuff up the filter, it can weaken the foam, move it around so it is not sitting in the mesh properly. Also you could have blown some of the crap into the filter so it doesnt suck properly, that is why it has the warning on the filter box and that is why you should only use the proper cleaning products to clean the filter. You better pull it out and hold it upto the sun after you have cleaned it with the K&N solution to see if there are any holes it just to make sure that it is ok.

well ,

cleaning dust and dirt out of a foam filter musn't use special products so i'd opt for any detergent or safe mild solvent and then re-oil it later on

the oil onli traps small particles .... dun see why it needs to be special knn oil

but dats my 2 cents

Super-Cheap has it for $27...Cheapest I could find.

Have not cleaned them yet.

Mechanic said use de-greaser and then wait to dry after you wash it.

After it is dry use crc.

For 27 Dollars I bought the real thing.... :)
