nuthn beats seeing the face of a new monaro 255 owner gettn chewed by a pretty stock r32 gts-t. been there, done that, and just to think.....theyve spent 70 odd grand on that cheaply build aussie shit car. and a note to all you bogans out there, PUSHRODS ARE DEAD!!

I agree with akeenan, if you are in front you have the right to end it! I always stop 10 to 20kms over da speedlimit. But yeah, it's so true how they always speed off into the distance! I always hit hazards if I win, but I might switch to indicators, it's less of an effort!

i thought the Gen III V8 only makes like 225kw... actually i'm pretty damn sure of that. It was nearly 30 kw's less than the 3.2L Straight six M3 .....hahahahha, nice one holden.

what a waste of.... litres and cyclinders and stuff...

My car has all the usual bolt-on mods including a bigger turbo, but not enough for 300rwkw! I'll get there eventually though. See my sig'. There's a few GTS25t's owners here with 300+rwkw.

Very nice! 13.1 in street trim is an awesome time! I am hoping for low 13s after my first round of mods.

Correct 225kw, but they are in fact detuned in stock form they produce 250kw in the US But Holden detuned them for our market. Mind you with just an exhaust and a rewrite of the software with LS1 edit and you are looking at 230rwkw. Not bad for $3k. Also I know of a new 225kw Holden ute that ran consistant 12.2 at EC with only exhaust, LS1 edit and a small cam.

Thanks mate. Yeah I've only ever run in street trim.

It should go a bit quicker again as I've done quite a bit of work & gained a few rwkw since that run.

Hope ya' nail low 13's mate.

I would not be so quick to put down an LS1 powered commodore, i own one a VX berlina( MY tow car) and a R33 GTST, unfortunately currently my LS1 is quicker than my skyline, commy runs a 13.3 with only exhaust , diff gears and tune. The Gtst runs a 13.8 with higher boost exhaust pod filters and chip. Now me and my brother have raced them and the berlina is a good 5 cars quicker from a standing start, of coarse we swapped drivers to make sure and again pulled the same, so what begain as my tow car for my boat has now started to pull funds away from the skyline mod account.

the ls1 is a mean motor. I know there are plenty of fairly slow stock commodores around sporting them, for instance the GTS monaro I hosed this morning on the freeway on ramp. But it doesn't take much to free up the power lurking beneath and there are some very good street weapons just waiting to show a gtst how mortal it is (even if it doesn't look very good doing it).

boys I am an import lover as much as the next. But you guy have got to watch out for the pushrod motor... they are very angry when they are derestricted. remember the quickest "street" cars in australia and america aren't powered by fuel injected, over head cam wizardry... top fuels?? no computers and technology... just top gun performance.... but just the same... I really really love my imports.... they can drive you around australia and then run 11's and that is awsome....

    • Convert to dual filament bulb   FWIW, it will look odd - I dare say a bit dumb as it looks like your flasher relay has shit the bed.
    • If the RB20 box in the car is a push clutch, then yes, you will need to deal with the pull clutch on the turbo box. You either buy a pull clutch and don't use the old one, or you do the things needed to convert the turbo box's clutch arrangement over to push. Which is a bit of a f**karound. "Making" a custom tailshaft is the easy part. But you will need to source the front clip yoke - the bit that goes into the output of the gearbox. These are not as easy to find. They are out there, but they don't grow on trees the way that they used to.
    • Indicator bulbs are way too bright to use as a "corner marker" (we call them parking lights too). Sure. Go ahead and do it. But realise that you wil need to come up with all your own wiring to do it, as no-one will have a standard howto worked out for Skylines. It's just a matter of abandoning everything that Nissan have done and starting from scratch. You'd probably be better off retrofitting tailght/brakelight globe bases into the front indicator housings and using the taillight circuit for your corner marker and the brake light as the indicator. You'd need to work out how to kill the marker circuit while the indicator is flashing, otherwise it won't flash on-off, just bright-less bright.
    • Hi. A little bit of an update. It maybe(hope not) looks like i would need a new tranny(it would be "maybe" a cheaper or better option anyway) So i need some info. I know i need a different propshaft(i can make custom one) LSD is not a problem cuz the engine will be still(for now) N/A RB20. So if i buy RB25DET NEO tranny...is there something else i need? I read something about push/pull type but i do not know if i need to "change" something or i can just plug n play onto my engine a go? Thanks for the advice
    • Good morning all, Bit of a random question but figured I’d finally throw it out after wondering for a long while. Before I start, I'm hoping to do this purely out of personal preference. I think it would look better at night, and don't mind at all spending a few hours and dollars to get it done. I've copied this from a non-Skyline specific forum, so I apologize for the explanation of our headlight switch setup that we all know. Here we go: Zero lights (switch off) Parking lights (switch position 1) being a rectangular marker on the outside of the housing, my low beam being the projector in the centre (position 2), and a high beam triggered by my turn signal stalk. Most North American cars I’ve owned of this era have power to the amber corner (turning indicator) light as part of the first switch (parking lights). I’d love to have these amber corners receive power when the headlights and parking lights are on (headlight switch), yet still blink when using the turn signal which is of course a separate switch. Hopefully I’ve explained my question correctly. Is anyone aware of a way in which I might be able to achieve this? Thanks in advance
