Gear Box Conversion

[R34 boy]

just wanting to know if a R32 gtr 5 speed manual will bolt onto my R34 rb25 neo and if not would a R33 rb25 5 speed will work on my R34. At the moment i have a tiptronic auto and thinking bout a manual box. Just not sure what will go and what wont.

Hey mate,

All RB series have the same mating pattern for the gearbox to engine face. Therefore any RB gear box can be bolted to any engine in the series. You may however need to modify your tail shaft, lengthen, shorten and/or attach a new slip yoke. Also match the slave cylinder to the gearbox.

Unfortunately I cannot help you would the the cross members for the R34 although I do know that if you install an R33 5spd box into an A31/C33/R32 you can use the R33 cross member and it will just bolt straight into place.

you can't use a gtr box in a gts-t due to AWD

do the gtr and the gts have different floor pans, is that why the gtr box wont fit in mine or is there another reason.

the gtr box has a transfer case on the back of the box i believe they have the same internals though.

can you just remove the gears from the transfer case and would it still work like a normal box
