hey guys i recently purchased a stock r33 gtst and am concidering mods. i was thinking of starting with a pod filter. Any suggestions or recomendation on what adaptors best suit Skylines, Would it be essencial to get one with a heat shield?

You probably don't want to hear this, but I would recommend keeping the stock airbox an putting an aftermarket panel filter in it. eg K&N

All will say, "Oh yeah, but what about when you get a FMIC"

And I would say, do something like this.....

I have one of those HKS pods with a custom heat shield, very noisy when turbo is spooling up. But I think the best pod to get is one of those Apexi filters. They were shown to have the best filtration ability and provided equal (maybe a little better) power increase over the other filters tested (HKS, Blitz, K&N). There was a post on here a while ago which gave the link for this test.
