Engine No. Prefix?

Hi, I just got my R32GTST 4 door complied the other day and upon registering it I noticed it has RB25 as the engine No. prefix. Is this normal for the RB20 or do i possibly have an RB25 transplant? To look at the engine there is no external difference i can see to an RB20 except it has an RB25 turbo.

Any help would be great.

Check the engine number on the LH (passenger) side of the engine just behind the turbo on the flat piece of block near the gearbox. All the top covers are interchangable from RB20 - RB25 from memory.

Umm if it is your engine number I think you may well be in luck, probably a stagea motor

Thanks guys, yeah i've seen the engine No. on the block and it has RB25 as part of it. Is there somewhere i can trace the engine No. to verify what it is.

Its not just the covers, its manifolds, timing cover, coil packs and even cylinder head that is RB20. Would be an easy way of doing a 2.5 uprade i guess to just change the block.
