Hey guys,

I have recently completed an engine conversion and now my 180sx has an RB20DET from an R32,

I have a few mods planned for the engine but before i can start on the mods i need to find a Mechanics/Performance place that are trustworthy and know the RB engine in the S.E. Suburbs area.

If You know of any places that do good work for the right price please let me know where they are as i dont have a clue on where to look

Thanks in advance guys

Sop

FARK!!

(that's the 'welcome to Vic' thread that you will see on the first VIC page)

Fark again!

(that's a thing called 'search')

...crap I think I'm turning into Ash!

DUDE! This member is new and it’s their first post. I think we can be a bit lenient.

Hey allblitz I think this person resides in SE (eg. Dandenong, Springvale, Noble Park area). Campbellfield might be a bit of a hike.

racepace isnt exactly SE either lol

racepace = high end work, rb26, rb30det, high end rb25

ice performance = high end work, rb26, high end rb25, mild rb25

chasers = mid range rb25, mid range rb20, know stacks on sr20

creatd = not sure, seen a rb25 twin custom and rb25 vl

dr drift = mid/high end range rb20, rb25, rb26, sr20, ca18, can remap pretty much any ecu

thats my view of them anyway, certainly not their respected "what we do" or "we only do this", thats sort of a, if you want some stuff done then probably best speaking to the most suited. i certainlty wouldnt goto racepace for a 80,000 service as an example, they are suited for circruit work cars and high perf cars

    • Well, your RB20 ECU loom won't have wires for the boost solenoid, that boost sensor, and possibly one or two other things. There could be differences in seemingly random things like the charcoal canister purge solenoid, because the 25DET has to handle boost in the vacuum system and the 20DE does not. I don't know - I haven't looked. It is very likely that all the most important things are same-same, being the main sensors like AFM, CAS, etc, and the injectors and ignition. Not that you'll need the AFM for the Haltech anyway. I would suggest that you would seriously want to sit down with the pinouts for both ECUs and just go through them and highlight green what is the same, orange what is different/missing, and make a plan from there. It's not going to be difficult. It will either be the same or need to be fixed.
    • yeaaa that's why I haven't done any wiring to the stock ecu harness because I have the haltech, but then that leads me to the other question of "is the pnp harness really plug and play?" or would I have to still switch some pins/wires over because the pnp is for the rb25det neo harness, and not for the rb20de neo harness. was really hoping to find something to spoon feed me since so many people have done rb20neo + t conversions, but man this is rough.
    • Temu raptor, lol. At least the owner isn't your typical ranger danger lot
    • They definately are coming back around, so many GTRs coming through again with them.
    • Besides which. If you have a Haltech waiting - don't waste your time and effort and money trying to get the boost sensor. Just f**k the stock ECU off and put the Haltech in. Then you won't need the boost sensor.
