I'm wondering whether it is appropriate for me to haggle the price a little, especially seeing as the car is still available after some time...

All the cars I've bought I've always haggled the price, i even got a 25% ($5000) reduction on my last one!

Has anyone found a vehicle in stock with an importer and managed to bargain the price down at all?

If so, how much did you get off the listed price?

Property is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If noone has bought the car at the listed price, why not make an offer?! If they say no, they lose the sale and the car sits there longer.

I would submit an offer for the seller/broker to consider/pass on. I don't mean to tell you to suck eggs, but don't bother with the old, "so what's the lowest you can go to" because those questions just piss people off. It's all about offer and counter offer imo.

I saw my skyline with 18,990 written on it. After looking at it at for a while the salesperson asked me how much i wanted to spend. I said 16 at the most. 3 weeks later sitting in his office he wanted 16,500, i said to him, he wouldn't budge, so after 15 minutes, i got up and said, "look instead of me thinking about 16,500 i'll give you a few days to think about 16". I bought the car for 16.

All you gotta do is pretend you know what your doing i guess, and also don't go in trying to be a hero or a hard c&*t coz they wont like you, and prob try to screw you over with the price.

Just pretend that its no loss if you don't get the car.. But the problem with that is someone may come up and take the item for the advertised price.

Also if importing the exporter (seller in Japan) can easily take items off the car and say that it happened in transit.

Something to think about..
