BTW, this is gonna sound weird, but: the 3 skylines I've test driven now, they all seemed to have huge backward and forward body roll on take offs. I drive a civic which (to me) feels like it's on rails (ignoring the understeer), but these skylines felt rather doughy and uninvolved by comparison simply cos of the roll.  Is this just because A) I'm not pushing the test cars cos I don't wanna get my ass kicked) and B) I'm just used to a small buzz box now that doesn't have enough power to even break traction from a standing start or push me into my seat?

Sounds like they have standard suspension in them, which is probably worn. They handle like boat anchors with standard suspension...

nah, its not the suspension, its because it has so much power, that it just throws you back and the car is wheel standing!!!! (yeah right....i wish!)

yeah, the standard suspension is a little on the saggy side. you can buy my suspension off me if you want? (its not stock...). i've just bought some coilovers..... :P hehe

I don't like the look of the R32s

i am with you well sorta its not that i dont like them but i prefer the 33 i could have got a 32 gtr but they just dont appeal to me as much as a 33... though i am getting a bit of a 34 bug at the moment i really want one pity their is 0% chance of that happening

Yeah sounds like your on the money with what your looking for!

Dont listen to half these 32 drivers on here! There still stuck with there 2lt commodore engines at the end of the day. (not you GTR boys!)

I'm not sure what your talking about with the "roll" on take off but my advice would be too sit in the passenger seat of mine and i'll give you a demo takeoff from about 6000rpm.

If you have any questions about SII R33's then i'll be happy to fumble out an answer.

theres nothing wrong with 32'! lighter than 33's and looks sportier etc... ask veilside, he'll tell you that 32's are better (i hope!) and he used to own a 33. but if your happy with a 33 then thats kool too, do what you want not what other want you to do :D

I'll try to get to the next friday night meet, and take you up on that offer! :D

I think I've made a subconscious (sp?) decision to upgrade the suspension on the skyline I get (if needed) before doing any stereo work. And that's saying something considering I spent 1600 on the sound in my titchy little civic hahahahaha

ok now i just read this thread it turned into a 32 vs 33 slander feast.

So Stirlo like steve said come sit in the passanger seat of my 33 see how quick you go white like me.

As for weight diff mines 1260kg so whats a 32 hmmm

nice to see we r all staying on topic.

just quickly, yes i prefer 32's but that said, i still loved my 33 (much roomier and very sexy)

anyway back on topic lads, there have been a million which is better threads and its purely personal preference, but so you all know....they are all better than peice of sh*t diahatsu's!

There's a white Skyline down the street from me but I don't know them.. it's a Northside suburb with a lot of old folks homes. If u read this and it's u, maybe I could walk down the street and check it out?

^^^ copyed from first post

If its a white one with no rear spoiler (stealth one) 18s (volks) fmic that would be me come up any time during the week only late in the arvo but.

    • Ok gotcha, so one post to fpr  another to bov  and I have the mishimoto boost controller and a link g4+ so I’d just have the tuner set it up properly. For the last two from plenum post throttle to  ecu/ boost controller, I know that I have a hose coming from the ecu that I was confused about so I assume that’s what connect to the boost controller from the ecu? And then the last is just from plenum to boost controller then to wastegate?
    • From there, it was just a quick electrical check, prime the oil and start her up Which, is not what happened. 1. Bloody seppo Aeropro battery holder. Not only was it too tall for the battery (which I'll forgive them for, I have another battery the same nominal size that is taller than Neil's one, but the bracket is a fixed height so the battery was spaced up) But the thing that really shits me is the hardware to hold it on requires a 7/32 Hex key. WTF. No-one will ever be able to remove or install the damn thing without a hex key they don't own 2. Kill switch no longer worked once the console was installed. Neil mentioned above he had to adjust the length but it no longer cleared the console once installed. Sorted. 3. Suspiciously, the brake light holders were hanging in the boot with no globes. Sure enough the stopper on the brake pedal was missing so they are always on unless the kill switch is activated. Will pick one up tomorrow (turns out 32 and 33 don't use the same stopper) 4. All that sorted, I turned on the kill switch, turned the key to ACC. Nothing. Turned it to IGN. Nothing. Checked some fuses and found the main IGN in the boot was missing which improved things once it was replaced. Now ECU and dash lights turn on with IGN but still no fuel pump. 5. Turned it to Start....ECU on, no fuel pump, no starter. Plus the voltage dropped straight to 9v.  I suspect the starter is f**ked but am going to have to work through it all and see what is happening, really looks like more than one issue. Does anyone have the R33 fuse box key with the circuit it sources from (eg BAT, ACC, IGN, SRT etc) and supplies? I can find a translated list showing Amps and circuit without supply circuit, and I can find supply circuit without Amps and target circuit.
    • 3rd time lucky, the AAC is now all plumbed up after getting some final fittings All set up under the plenum of maximum access
    • OK, so the weight has been bugging because it was really low. I did it again today and got a more believable answer at 1246 without driver And with a 93kg driver I'm pretty sure the car was still slightly on the quickjack last time meaning the full weight was not on the scales
