Help Snapped A Wheel Nut Stud.

Help Guys I snapped a wheel nut bolt on my subaru. i know i can still drive on it safely but i need to replace it obviously.

Question is has it happened to you before and how much it cost to get fixed...

i have taken the disc off and had a look all i need is a new stud and a wheel nut.. but i have to take off the 5 stud disk in order to get it on... too much work for me...

man,

once you have the disc off, all you do, is bash the stud out, and then put new one in. easy-as!

yea dude studs are cheal as i had 2 treadded ones for my 32 and they cost $9.00 . Nissan wanted $200 to fit em, but do it urself hey. save the money

Yea i can bash it out but getting the new one in would be an problem as i cant seem to get enough room at the back to bash it back it... even taking the sheild off..

called around looks like only $70 to fix, have to take hub off..

When you are putting the new stud in, put the wheel on and tighten the nut up on the stud u just did, this will help it pull it thru & lock it into position..

nah, u don't have to take the hub off to get it back in.

You do have to be careful though.

put the stud in, use pliers to pull it as tight as you can to get it in the grooves.

rather than putting the disc and wheel on though, use washers to space it a bit. This way, you can still reach the back of the stud, as you may need to hold it with pliers to stop it turning, while screwing on the nut.
