this may be a silly question but does anyone run with the heater on during track days to cool the motor (esp. those with stock radiators)?

LOL...that would be me. Th epoor mans aftermarket radiator. It gets stinking hot inside the car though, and the fire i had last year was a result of running the heater as the coolant was running through the firewall at full bore when th ehsoe split right next to the exhaust housing spraying a 50-60% mix of glycol ethanol:water all over a red hot turbo....lol not good if you want to drive the car home.

A good idea for any car with an aftermarket dump or turbo is to put some high temp sheathing over the heater hose goign to the core, or at a minium check the condition of the hose.

...and Duncan i hope so, but only time will tell :(

Is it an OK idea to do a trackday on crappy tyres, if i'm strictly not looking for times? (Falken Ziex A326s)

I was planning on holding off until I get swaybars and decent tyres (I've always upgraded the pads and clutch in preperation), but after reading this thread, I think i'll try a day with my current tyres.. won't have much traction but I guess it will be a lot of fun powering out of corners!! I just wanna have some fun :)
