How To Make A R33 Gtst 4wd

With a GTR front cut is it possible to make a GTSt 4WD? using the gearbox,front drive shaft, front diff and axles, also the front hubs????? will all the parts need be included in a front cut???

Obviously the gearbox tunnel would be modifided to make room for the trasfer case and you would have to put in the torque spit control in, but in theory its possible, and borderline worthwhile.

Its physically very hard. I checked out a r32 gtr shell and compared it to mine (gtst)

Basically the front chassis rails in the engine bay are completely different. They have like a upside down u to let the front driveshafts have room to clear . Then inside the car on the drivers side there is a hump to let the transfer case have clearance as well.

In other words, unless you are prepared to do a cut and shut on the front end, and modify some of the floor pan its a very hard job imho. Otherwise go for it

Yeah I wasnt planning on actually doing it, was just thinking about what was involved and how hard it would be to do

Not to mention all the electronics that go with making a AWD work. Much cheaper to get a GT-R.

The other option is a GTS4 and fit a Stagea RB25DET, or a RB26DETT.

And would the rear gear ratio of the GTSt match the front GTR ratio? They have different driveshafts so a full rear change would be in order.

I know there is a large difference on the R33 GTR I have and my manual GTSt. The GTSt with higher redline of 8000rpm with PFC is doing 60 in 1st and 105 in second, while the GTR on stock computer does 75 in first and 125 in second which, while I couldn't be arsed checking the ratios myself is more than the the slight difference in redline.
