Hey everybody, how you all doing?

Just wondering if any of you could help me with a problem that I am having. Maybe, one of you has also experienced this problem.

I have just installed a new Turbosmart Boost-T (the new version: red casing not blue). I put the boost up to about 10psi, since I have a Series 2, I don't wanna go any higher just in case I take out my turbo and its nylon compressor wheel. 10psi is the recommended anyway. Anyway, the boost seems to come on harder and earlier, but then drops out straight away, and I don't mean a natural drop out like when it gets to full boost and tapers off a bit, I mean it really feels like my car has either a restrictor on the turbo or something heavy is pulling my car back! It just doesn't feel like it has the grunt of a GTS25t. I have driven my friends R33 GTS25t Series 1, and it goes much faster and so much smoother. He runs the same boost level as me, and I don't think it has anything to do with the different Series 1 turbo compressor wheel either.

Our cars are basically tuned the same: Just a BOV, exhaust system (no downpipe), no intercooler yet.

Also, sometimes the boost does come on properly and smoothly, but then cuts out again. And, other times it comes on boost but is really jerky at the start like its overboosting or something, but then goes smooth after.

My turbo is not busted, its not making funny whirring noises and my exhaust is not puffing out smoke on boost. I have resetted my ECU, performed a full service, changed the fuel pump as well (as I have heard this may be the cause of the sluggishness), installed some new NGK Iridium IX sparkplugs for the RB25DET. But it doesn't seem to help.

Does anybody think its my sparkplugs? I run the HKS SSQV BOV also.

Could anyone please help me troubleshoot this problem? Or, has anybody experienced this problem with their boost-T?

Thanks heaps! Much appreciated.

Hey Skylimit,

i dont think its your Turbosmart Boost Tee. I got and have it at 10psi and not a prob, just still too much power for a guy of my size =D

Could be the BOV. I got a Turbosmart Megasonic (nice big one)

Good luck :D
