it sits about 2500 rpm. in 5th gear for a manual

i was reading guys saying 3500RPM on the highway! i was like wtf!

my 2.2L non turbo auto TX5 sits just uner 2500 at 100, and 2500 at 110 (speedo reading)....so i woulda thought a 5 spd manual and bigger engine would be lower...but who knows

Yeah, mine sits at about 2800-3000 5th gear.

5th Gear at 100 should be around 2.5 to 2.8 depending seriously on the car. Different cars will have different readings.

How would you go abouts getting that RPM down? Differnt Gear Ratios? 6 speed gear box conversion??

A change in diff ratio would change the RPM on the freeway. Although if you do that everything else will be affected as a result. eg: Take off would be a lil slower...
