Uses a  single garrett to4z
picked up my hks t04z

Would be good to do a HKS T04Z versus Garret T04Z comparison.

What were the relative prices?

What do the dimensions measure up like?

Did either of you guys get/find a compressor map?

:D cheers :)

ummm rev range is from 4500-9000. Its not laggy really bout the same as 2530's if not bit better.

Hey R32-GTS, first of all congratulations on a great result!

Just a few questions for those of you who know.

Are the TO4Z capable of 700rwhp?

What exhaust housing are you using for the turbo to be as responsive as a set of 2530's?

Would you recommend this turbo for a car that is going to be used predominantly on the track?

I'm sorry if I may have hijacked this thread, just curious since we were on the topic.

Thanks in advance!

Well with a 4500-9000rpm range thats a massive spread.

Obviosuly excellent for track with such a range as that, would be very fast even as a streeter (provided traction)

As per the massive and hotly debated thread about twin vs single turbos a while ago... where some very good points for both came up...

A big single IMO correctly matched can do as good, if not better, job than twins. Ive seen to many cars now that are like this

Main good point for twins tho is "legallity". Something some people dont ahve to worry about etc.

With fuel and boost 700rwhp i think it would get close too with more boost. I dont think pulp will achieve it... but you never know

hey gary i paid $3400 delivered and it never got any customs taxes or GST (which is extremely lucky weighing a tonne and in a huge box  )

i got no compressor maps and what can i measure without dis-assembling it :P

SPECS:

HKS T04Z 63T A/R 0.81

i just measured up a few points with the digital calipers...

air filter inlet outside diameter =104.1mm

air filter inlet inside diameter at comp wheel = 69mm

turbine comp cover from centre top to centre bottom is = 195.6mm

compressor inlet pipe inside diameter = 61.6mm

twin split flange onto manifold with two rectangles (inside measurement) = 34.2mmx50.1mm

exhuast outlet inside diameter at exit point of turbo = 71.2mm

exhuast wheel = 65.5mm

now for simon to measure his up :) or someone with one lying around in storage :)

cheers

Brad

Sorry for the late replies. Its a R32 GTR not a gts . The turbo has a .81 rear on it. Its a garrett turbo so i assume its a garrett housing. They cost about $2000.00 now if im correct. Once i get some big injectors 1000cc might see what it does at 2bar. But for now it will stay like this as its a bit of a handful to drive. Still got stock box in it but as far is holding up ok.

for the D jetro do you need to change anything besides not using the AFMs?

.81 rear housing whats the specs for the cold side?

I'm assuming this is the same spec as a gt35/40R if not abit bigger.

The t04z is one size bigger then the gt3540r pretty much . Has a bigger compressor wheel and slightly bigger turbine wheel. The housings however are the same size.

Well done poo poo

Like I wrote in the article i did for it, i knew it would crack 600 with ease... time to wind it right up dude!

10.9 with a stock box and a really high mph.. with a decent box in it its going to go mid to low 10's , which is awesome for a backyard built shitter :(

As you well know, all of us send out congrats

thats an awesome result mate, you gotta be happy with that!

Just a quick question - why did you change to the d-getro? Where you maxing out your airflow meters electronically or where they becoming a physical restriction?

Also where you able to use your old tune from the old power fc or did you have to get a compete different retune?

Hey brad weighed it yesterday was 1480kg without me in it. Has a nismo twin plate.

Turbostyler i changed to a d-jetro because the air flow metres wernt working to well with a single turbo as in light throttle cruise etc. . I dont think 2 rb20 afm's would have had any physical restriction. The maps dont interchange they are different.
