anyone know if boost in lton does nistunes yet?

i've heard that brad likes to push the use of microtech and i've been told by some guys in the know that there are much better options

i find that if you do mods yourself you know when stuff isn't quite right and you can usually pinpoint it more easily

hmmm, might have to pay him a visit then......

i thought gt garage in hobart were the main nistuners in tas and a few ppl from lton go down there for nistuning

people go every where over tas to get stuff done because of one reason or another.

all you have to do is ask. ive been dealing with brad for years now and i didnt even know he dealt with nistune untill a few months ago. i guess you never know unless you ask.

brad has had a lot of experiance tuning all kinds of ecus. he profers Haltechs much like fueltech like vipecs. every place has there profered.

at then end of the day the ecu is there to adjust parameters of the engine and how effiently it does this is all that matters. Ecus like wolf and microtech have half as many load points to adjust these that is why they are not viewed to be as good. plenty of people still use them thoe.

when ever you like. just send me a pm and arange a time. they are on my race car and only 5 mins to pull off.

ive also found boost to be cheaper than GT for general tunes and nistunes.

Huge thanks to Damo yet again. Managed to get my speedo working and repair a snapped wire on one of my knock sensors.

Possibly was dodgy connection prior to me snapping wire as I now a full power with no pops/bangs/misfires whatsoever and I now have a working speedo

Now touch wood nothing will go wrong so I make the track day in August.

so after talking to the original owner of my 33 im even more interetsed to see what sort of power it has now, turns out that before the engine was rebuilt with 26 goodies it made 207.3rwkw on 12psi & 228rwkw on 15psi

pulled off the rear bar of the 33 today to see how bad the damage is ( was done by the previous ownerspank.gif )

so the 33 currently looks like this sad.gif ( the skyline center garnish is just sitting there so it looks more in on one side)

how much was that if you don't mind me asking?

also, i'd go see brad at boost for a nistune

pretty sure they will support up to about 500hp (don't know exactly) but it will support bigger injectors, bigger afm, and lots of stuff (plus they keep being able to unlock more and more features with every new firmware update)

Send Veeto a PM, he just put a Nistune in his Stagea, pretty cheaply too.

    • I have two German Shepherds that like to bite things that are in places they shouldn't be. Plus the cars/batteries on chargers are inside a locked garage, inside that fully fenced and locked yard. If you can get the car out, you can have it, as I'll be having one hell of a laugh at your expense.
    • Looks like they changed the wording in the manual for the new model. I have a different model. Mine is CC1206. Not CC1206-XLI. Mine doesn't support lithium at all. I can't find the manual for my model online and they don't list the model on the Century website anymore either. In my manual it says what I quoted and that they recommend to not leave it on 🤷‍♂️ Sounds like you'd be fine with this one now.
    • Thanks for actually answering every single point! I noticed the date only after posting. And yes, looks like things have changed a little bit since then. FWIW, looks like Government Gazette No 253 has the current emissions test procedure. Sounds pretty reasonable altogether. One thing I learned from this is that it's possible to check whether a catalyst does any work by measuring the temperature. Catalyst outlet temp is at least 40°C higher than inlet temps if there is a reaction happening. I'd be curious to check this on mine but don't have a thermometer. Because purely going by smell it can't be doing much. Personally I'd be okay to pay for the test as long as it's within reason. My main concern would be to lose my rego because it definitely wouldn't pass the test in its current state. I'll see if I can do a bit more digging and see what's involved in doing this nowadays.   To be fair I don't think it's stopping many people from doing the modifications anyway. It just puts a barrier up to doing things right
    • Uhhh if anyone sees this - I bought a BRZ years ago, on my fulls soon so back on the market for the R34!
