Hey...

Try this website.. it has the specs for the models you were querying, you can compare to see if there are any differences.. although you may have to look under 1997 and not 1998 since it only lists R34s in 98.

Hope it helps

Miss Turbo

im confused. so if i get the ecr33 can i drive it and say that my cars not restricted cause it only lists da hr33 as restricted :S

You'll be walking a fine line if you try this.

If you get caught (and you will be, with P-Plates on a SKyline you will definitely get license checked) be prepared to have a day in court to fight it.

I recommend you stick to the rules. It's not worth the hassle.

ok here is the deal, if u got ur p's before the cut off in july, i dont remember the exact date, u are free to drive any turbo powered or high performance v8/v6..... so it doesnt matter wat car u go for coz u got ur P's before the rules came into play.

I think you'll find that it is counted as being under the list..

The following is taken from this page.. Just because a exact model number of the vehicle isn't on it.. it doesn't matter..

I've bolded some parts of it..

Vehicle and passenger conditions for P1 and P2 licence holders

On 11 July 2005 the NSW Government introduced two changes to the provisional licence scheme. Both changes are new initiatives to help reduce the young driver road toll. Vehicle and passenger conditions are described below.

Prohibited vehicles

The prohibited vehicle condition restricts all new provisional (P1 and P2) drivers from driving certain vehicles while on their provisional licence. The scheme aims to prohibit young driver access to vehicles that are overrepresented in young driver crashes.

Prohibited vehicles are those with:

* Eight or more cylinders.

* A turbocharged engine.

* A supercharged engine.

* Engine performance modifications.

* Certain high performance six cylinder engine vehicles.

A list of prohibited vehicles is available to view and download from the box at the bottom of this page. The list will be updated as required.

Please note: the list is a guide only and subject to change at any time without notice. If your vehicle is not on the list but would otherwise be considered to be a ‘prohibited vehicle’, you must not drive it, unless exempt.

Guidelines for light vehicle modifications, including engine modifications, are also available to view and download at the bottom of this page (refer to Vehicle standards information sheet VSI 06).

The prohibited vehicle condition does not apply to:

* Existing provisional (P1 and P2) licence holders prior to 11 July 2005, unless they are disqualified for a serious driving offence committed on or after 11 July 2005.

* Learner licence holders.

* Vehicles with diesel powered engines.

That should probably answer any questions..

    • Hey everyone, This is my first post apart of the introduction. I tried searching a bit on the forum but couldn't really get a straight answer. I got the car to my mechanic as I felt it being weak. It seems that it was missing on two cylinders due to the injectors. I had all my injectors clean and the car runs much better. The mechanic also confirmed my suspicions that the cat is clogged and needs to be tackled asap. The cat rattles a bit and the hot exhaust warning frequently lights up when driving after getting the injectors clean. In my introduction I was asked about what modification I might be interested in and mentioned a cat delete. From what I was told, this is not really beneficial on the RB20DE and there are more cons than pros.  Could perhaps anyone give some suggestions on what the best course of action would be since the current cat is toast and needs to be removed/replaced anyway? I can also sometimes smell a strong smell of fuel, but I'm not sure if this is related.
    • Hope the cans went down well at least
    • 255 can't go wrong with the price.
    • When I was replacing my pump due to being stranded in the wrong state, I went with the Deatschwerks 320lph kit. It is a direct plug in to the stock wires, harness, everything. It comes with a plug... but you can plug the OEM plug directly into this thing. https://justjap.com/products/deatschwerks-dw300-fuel-pump-nissan-s13-silvia-r32-r33-r34-skyline-c34-stagea?currency=AUD Downside: Won't actually flow that much on boost if you want to push it on E85, but it's comparable to the 040/255 etc. Little more actually.
    • I dunno what the "best" one is....but when my 040 died late last year, after about 20 years of screaming service....I put in a 255. Like any such thing, you have to finagle it a little bit - it's not a no-brain swap. But it's not hard.
