Yep see Anthony at Autowholesale he'll sort you out for your CPV35 needs... Ive driven the red one - VERY NICE... but its auto :D Good thing with these different to the R34 situation is they are going for pretty much the same at auction whether auto or manual.

If you wanna import yourself - then a basic povo spec CPV35 (coupe), 2003 with higher kms (around 30 - 40,000kms) will set you back around 2 million yen if you can wait for the right price... which landed and complied and in your driveway is around $39,000 !! Not bad considering how much 350Zs still go for and you get the extra 2 kiddy seats :( The "Premium pack" which has BOSE stereo system and usually convertable Sat Nav / DVD and half-leather trim will cost you another few hundred thousand yen (still high kms), right through to a 2005 with 5,000kms or so where you're looking around $52,000 landed or more. But yeah that should at least give you a guide to a reasonable yard price... first lot will probably be stickered at $48k + ... but depending on kms and specification a few thou either side of that would be reasonable Id reckon... but hey - thats just my thinking based on auction prices and "landed quotes" from brokers. In my opinion the extra several thousand yard price for a warranty, after sales support, and BEFORE sales fixing of any surprises is well worth the difference.

Last time I asked, Autowholesale also said they'd be happy to find the right car for serious buyers with a deposit down - so ask where that is at the moment (not really brokering - still pay yard price with warranty and after-sales support etc - but at least get colour and specification level you're happy with).

And just so you know just about everything underbody is interchangeable with 350Z stuff - so you can grab an HKS 350Z exhaust or some coilovers etc and pretty much bolt it right on :D

Interestingly the blue one at Downunder in Leederville is gone - in fact the whole YARD IS GONE! Anyone know if they moved or closed shop??

For anyone thinking 4 door - the model you want to look for is the top of the line V35 350GT-8... 8 speed tiptronic (yes EIGHT speed - world first) VERY TIGHT RATIOS and rapid low end shift changes and PADDLE shift not button shift - same box in the new GTR i read - sposed to be very quick off the mark with the 8 speed and still with the 3.5 litre - pity bout the extra weight of the 4 door though. But these are about 75% the cost of the CPV35 at auction on average - so a nice alternate option with someone with only $34,000 or so to spend.

:)

down under auto has moved to malaga or wangala..not so sure, but if yo go to the website, they have address on it.

the red 35 was driven half years ago on alb hwy, i saw it all the time with dealer number plate on, he should be enjoy that thing very well...

there is one from PMS with 8 speed auto calle GT-8 and it cost under 30k to land with compaliance and ready to rego... a blue one was for sale at 25,990...

they are not that expensive, unless the V35 skyline 2 door. and it looks better than 350Z and perform better...

Do the sums on the V35, search the forums about some of the stock offered in Japan and make sure they can comply the car first as some emission tests are yet to be sourced.

Just because it is offered for sale or you are told the car can be imported it dosent mean you will get it on the road 2 weeks after arriving at the workshop.

Even better let them use it as a test car..............

I was going by the name in america. Which ofcourse is G35. I am never wrong so you must get use to it.  :)

If you go by the name in America, then you'd be referring to a lefthand drive example... not the case 'ere then, innit? :P I know you don't probably approve of it, but it's probably best to call it a... oh my gawd... a 'Skyline'...

    • Which model Maxima? This is good knowledge to have.
    • I'm with GTS, that's not an actual overheat issue. That's an electrical issue.
    • So, it's clearly an electrical problem. Either with the gauge itself, or the sender. It appears to be voltage sensitive (ie, alternator output affects the reading.
    • Yes, at this stage of SAU threads, I  automatically assume that anyone here knows that everything depends on each and every setup and its choice of parts and what an individual wants from the setup. I think your misunderstanding what I've said, I'm not saying your curve will move to the right.. I'm stating the opposite; that my setup has a much larger turbo than my last one, my current exhaust manifold runners are 2-3x longer than the last one, the intercooler is longer and thicker (hks 103mm thick), the itbs are now oversized from 45mm up to 49mm, and the plenum is now a larger Nismo plenum that's been port matched. As a result, I'm making more power, torque and boost 1000rpm earlier than my last setup. My curve moved left, in a big way. You guys with 800-1000+hp turbos should be considering hks v-cam or the other Japanese company Sakura who makes RB25 Neo vct adaptor kits for RB26's. they all make more power / boost / torque far earlier and higher peak numbers. Dahtone Racing modifies the Hks v-cam systems to his own specs and he also developed the worlds first and best dbw individual throttle body kits, to complement his V-cam. Every single car is 800-1200+hp and they all produce huge gains in response and peak power.
    • I have a 2008 Skyline 370gt with about 160,000 km on the clock currently. A while ago, I noticed the temp gauge would start climbing but it comes down when I give it some throttle. I took it into the shops. The technicians comments are transcripted below. Reported they couldn't find anything wrong with the vehicle mechanically and they pressure tested the cooling system. Funnily enough, the technician commented that the temperature dropped back down when the car is stationary but this is when I'd notice the temp gauge to be climbing. Just wondering if anyone else experienced anything similar to enlighten me? Cos at the onset, the temps were going up one tick and then comes back down when I step on it. Now, the temps are climbing all the way to the top of the gauge, and it's making me very nervous lol. It also doesn't come down to the neutral position anymore. PS I do have a small exhaust leak near the drivers side caused by when I got f**ked by a really steep driveway at a mall I never visited before. Not sure if this would affect the sensor. Technician comments: Check and verify Fan/Cooling system - ALL OK max 106*C and fans operating at 100% Cools down right away. Checked Fan Operation - 55%@101*C, 85% @ 104*C and 100% @ 105*C Vehicle did not exceed these temperatures with max load. Temperature recovered back to 99*C after fan operation while vehicle Stationary.
