umm I'm still new with car stuff...can sumone explain what's gear ratio for? as simple as possible...

also why do ppl want to get HICAS lock bar? aren't those the stuff which locks up the diff? so when taking corners locks up and both inner and outer wheels turn at the same speed...wouldn't that cause bunny hop?

the bosch fuel pump 040 and 044 the differnce must be the capacity to pump but anyone know what are they, I'm looking to get an aftermarket fuel pump but dunno how to choose, what to look out for?

Read up on this page;

http://science.howstuffworks.com/gear-ratio.htm

I know it's "geeky" but this site will pretty much cover the basics of how parts in cars work. This explains how gear ratio's work.

When talking about gear ratio's on cars, it refers to the transmission or the differential.

HICAS lock bar is to simply remove the HICAS system on Nissan cars equiped with it. In simple terms, the HICAS is a computer/hydrolic system which makes corrections to the cars rear wheel above 80km/h in a given corner. It has nothing to do with the diff.

For the average driver it works a miracle. But for someone who's looking for complete control of the car, it's not pleasent. The computer is correcting the driver, while the driver is correcting the computer so it's a never ending battle.

And through fast corners (90km/h and over) it feels as if they tyre has rolled onto its sidewall when u turn in, and it feels like you have driven over a slippery patch of road

If you follow a hicas equipped car u can actually see it unsettle the car, a friend described my car as looking like it had driven over a patch of sand whenever turned into high speed sweepers...

it really detracts from a good drive it puts me off heaps. i dont see how it could help anyone! i need a hicas lock bar..

As "Silver-Arrowz" and "siksII" have said just stops HICAS ruining your fun, and feeling a bit dodgy at high speed cornering by disabling the rear wheels from assisting in turning the vehicle. But I read my mates new HPI mag today, they fully explain a lot on GTR's as it's a "GTR special issue" and a good read for those who havent seen it yet... :angry: yes explains HICAS lock bars and more

Cheers
