I have found out my 02 sensor has just died and I was wondering if it could have been my CAI setup.

With my old R33, I had a K&N pannel filter but no CAI. I never needed to replace the 02 sensor in the 4 years and 50000ks I owned the car.

Now with the 34, I again used the K&N filter but made my own CAI to the stock box. Within 5000ks I now have the engine light on my car and the error code 33 which is "Heated oxygen sensor signal circuit"

My question is, could the extra air flow have caused the oil from the filter to soil my 02 sensor and has anyone else had a problem with 02 sensor when using an oiled filter or pod with CAI?

I thought it weird that my 02 sensor could have gone already. Everything else on my car is like new and there is only 42000ks on the clock.

Well according to nissan O2 sensors are to be changed every 40000KM so I would say it just died of old age!
