Idle..

i dont know if this is normal, but if i leave my car running for like 2-5 mins, it just turns off? is there some foctory thing?

not the turbo timer.

that is definately strange. Should not turn off at all unless your keys are out of the ignition - turbo timer or not. And im quite sure it isnt a factory thing with any cars especially with keys still in the ignition barrell - im assuming keys are in cars, yes?

yeah mate keys are in, does it all the time...

when i was waiting for a train to pass the other day.. off she went.

the check engine light comes on. but that would come on after stall.

How does she turn off though?

DOes it turn off like you would turn the key off?

Or does it stutter and stall slowly.

if the car stutters or misfires/idles roughly prior to cutting out power means that you have a afm/spark/ignition issue. But having said this, it doesnt sound right as you only mentioned that it happend a few minutes after idling. Honestly, im stumped but i do know of an electrican who can help you if you eventually decide to take it to one.

it turns off like you turn the key off, but the motor runs on a little bit too.

but just orderd a powerfc so that should fix the problem.

Jason have you sorted your issues out yet? cos mine has been doing the same over the last couple of days, go to put the foot down a little everynow and then and she coughs if i clutch it and pull over it will turn off/stall. Thinking it's finnally my fuel pump giving up on me!!!!!!

mmmm maybe idle guys maybe dirty afm , check to see what your car is idling at should be 650-700rpm.

Idle is all good when car is all good, but it seems to be more like Fuel Pump shittling itself or fuel filter blocking up, or like you guys said AFM or posibly FC conections but i doubt it being behind the kick panel.

i had a bit of an odd idle problem before my tuning work. now that my PFC and fuel pump are installed its been fine ever since. i remember Jason said he was gonna do these mods too, see if that fixes the prob?

mine idles at 820 usually, somtimes almost 900...very rare at 750....dunno y....got a apexi airflow controller n it shows me the exact revs....its still the same after turbo tune adjusted it 4 me...

if you can get your hands on a nissan consult it will show your ecu readings, good for those who havent got pfc controller or related electronics ie safc etc etc

my car idles at 1000rpm... and maybe occasionly drop to around 900??

i thaught it could be my idle contoll playing up..

vary rarely does it idle smoothley it normally hunts around at idle
