that is definately strange. Should not turn off at all unless your keys are out of the ignition - turbo timer or not. And im quite sure it isnt a factory thing with any cars especially with keys still in the ignition barrell - im assuming keys are in cars, yes?

if the car stutters or misfires/idles roughly prior to cutting out power means that you have a afm/spark/ignition issue. But having said this, it doesnt sound right as you only mentioned that it happend a few minutes after idling. Honestly, im stumped but i do know of an electrican who can help you if you eventually decide to take it to one.
